  1. Thanks Petroldave-that's the kind of information I was looking for. I contacted my local Skoda dealer before your reply and they confirmed what you just said. They also said I really do not need to check the tyre pressures as the system will alert me if there is a drop but if I suspect there is a problem with a tyre I should check the pressure manually and if I do adjust it I then have to reset the TPMS.
  2. gregoir-that really wasn't exactly helpful. I am still no further forward in resolving this matter.
  3. glosrich-in the car menu system should there be tyre pressures shown at all? I have had my car 7 months now and never received any tyre pressure alerts and have never topped up or manually checked the pressures. When I received the car from the dealer I enquired about the tyre pressure monitoring system and they said I do not have to go near it as the pressures were already set correctly. Surely by now I should have received an alert that one or two tyres need topping up? Thanks Fred
  4. Hi guys Just to add to the rear wash wipe debate. My car was bought brand new in May this year. I noticed almost right away that the rear wash wipe was rather sluggish in operation. It reminded me of my previous MK2 octavia which had the same issue and ended up needing a new motor fitted (very common problem with that version). During a recent heavy bout of rain I noticed again that the rear wash wiper was getting slower at sweeping than I remembered so i booked in to my local dealer for a look. Low and behold they diagnosed a faulty motor and it was replaced under warranty. I just hope this is not a repeat of the issues with the MK2.
  5. Really not sure if they are stone chips Rodge but I will take some pics of the marks and upload them here soon.
  6. Took my car in to my local Skoda dealer last week to have smartlink activated. The service manager did the obligatory walk around the car check before it went in to the workshop and spotted two white spots on the upper area of the from bumper. I hadn't noticed this in the last couple of weeks and queried if it was primer. He stated that something must have hit the bumper to have caused it. I know myself that I have never hit anything in the 5 weeks i have owned the car. He also stated this was not covered by the warranty. A couple of days later I received a courtesy call from the dealer querying how the visit went. Needless to say I said I was not happy about the paint issue especially as I had a problem when I first got the car on the bonnet area. She said she will pass it on and I will hear back from the dealer. Do you think I should just go straight to skoda UK for a proper paint inspection? Or could it just be I have been unlucky and something did scrape against the bumper somehow and chipped the paint off?
  7. I will be checking the car over in detail at the weekend in case there are any more paint glitches!
  8. That's good to hear. The dealership assured me no further work will be required on mine following their fix. Oh and thanks for that tip-always annoys me when I try to clean the wipers and they are parked down by the bonnet!
  9. Hi My car is Corrida Red so the white primer really stood out. What makes you think a respray will be required? I haven't spotted any other paint issues-so far!
  10. Hi glosrich I picked up my barnd new Octavia in corrida red 10 days ago and noticed 2 white spots of showing through in the same area you described. I contacted the dealer and they looked at it and said it was primer. They used touch up paint and it looks fine now. How is your bonnet holding up now?
  11. Hi folks Got my brand new 16 plate Skoda Octavia 1.2 TSI SE on Friday in Corrida Red on Friday.and loving it so far.
  12. Back on topic? This is the crux of meeting up! Do you really think a retailer will take kindly to people using their car park without going in their store for a local meet up each month/week without even asking them if they are ok with it?
  13. Hi 12345Jay. What if we actually asked Asda directly for permission to have a meet in their car park? You never know they may be good about it by simply asking them?
  14. Well from what I heard the people had to pay the fine. I just think the Asda car park is best avoided.
  15. I know of people who have parked in that Asda car park and received fines!
