  1. Hi pyror, i have just bought an L&k 1.8t like you have got. So the front anti roll bar on the L&K has different drop link mounts to the VRS/R32 on these models they attach to the shocks as Petrolbloke said , Ours attach to the front edge of the wish bones. This is something i am planning to do soon.
  2. My estate didn't have a boot spoiler so it was simple the hardest part was forcing the old brake light unit out it took 20mins start to finish .
  3. The seal on the old light can become stuck like glue i had to push quite hard to pop the old unit out , on the latest revision of brake light it only has 12 leds not 14 like the original on my car it caught me out i thought two bulbs had blown !
  4. I changed mine on my estate a few days ago once the three nuts are removed there is a pinch tab that needs squeezing so the light will pop out , i fitted a brand new genuine brake light from TPS and the two outside leds didnt work so ive got to take it back and change it again .
  5. The only 2 octavia models from 05-07 to have a DPF fitted from factory are the pd170 vrs and the 2.0 pd140 4x4/scout, so you will be fine .
  6. Just looked on ebay there is loads as said above its Bosh A937S , just search mk2 octavia wiper blades some were £18 deliered. This is part no is for pre face lift not sure if f/l is the same pin type .
  7. When it gets colder around 5 degrees mine tends to drop down to 43/46 mpg then when around 10 degrees its back up to 48/50 mpg as said above winter diesel will be phased out now for the summer so mpg should rise for everyone.
  8. Hi what engine do you have this may help to identify the problem .
  9. I bought Bosh front wipers £19 on ebay with free delivery
  10. I got mine from creation motorsport direct on there website or they are on ebay or just search ebay for AUQ 1.8t boost hoses or breather hoses there are lots of companies doing them now.
  11. With regards to the clutch take the car on a proper test drive get every thing up to temp if its worn or the fly wheel is vibrating it will become apparent when pulling away,A quick drive around the block will not show any faults, also when warm listen for the hamster wheel noise when you push the clutch in and out this is a sign of worn fly wheel, the dealer should give a warranty ! but beware of the cars to old ect.
  12. How much did they charge for the map ? Just replace the split hose and all should be well its worth investing in some silicone boost and breather hoses they are relativley cheap, the originals will be old and worn you may have a boost leak that you cant see especially the hose that connects to the pancake pipe hidden behind the d/s/f wheel the seals go on these.
  13. wow just read the full post i feel your pain roaddetective car goes in for a stage 1 remap comes out ok then on the way home problems, i like the way shark blame everything apart from the remap for the problems it sounds like it was being limited/held back by the ecu at 6k for what ever reason, i would of been fuming and demanded shark refund all the cost to you for replacing parts that didn,t need replacing when the only thing that changed was an obviously problematic map, but for them to blame the injectors that had been fully reconditioned shows they dont care and were trying to pass the buck, i seem to remember when the tsi vrs first came out there was issues with remaps . Get the map removed and back to standard and refunded + loss of earnings as self employed good luck with the car !
  14. It just goes to show you don,t need to spend ££££ on a turbo if you use a reliable turbo specialist who do a good rebuild/refurb job on an old unit lots on ebay its just knowing whos good and who,s not .
  15. You need to find out who is supplying the new turbo if its from TPS its genuine parts, if not they will probably get a cheap recon one and charge you genuine prices i always try to get all my own parts from TPS for piece of mind. I see you live in hampshire JKM in portsmouth are a VAG specialist/tuner get a quote from them unless its to late , For example, my old pd170 vrs needed a new turbo, on ebay various sellers had recon turbos for £250 +exchange or TPS had a genuine one for £700 ish these are the figures i would expect to pay for a turbo not £1000+ .
  16. Thats not a bad price its £100 cheaper than the skoda fixed price for belt and water pump, its advisable to change the aux belt on the altenator as it comes off any way and only £15-20 . i think i paid 3-4 hours labour for my cambelt change, i supplied my own genuine cambelt and water pump kit from TPS.
  17. Hi smaz92 you will probably struggle to find the info you need on here, i would advise going onto seat cupra.net and doing a search there is loads of info on there for the pd170 i used it loads when i had my pd170 .
  18. i am not being funny but also you dont want to invalidate your insurance with performance mods they dont know about ! Tyres are about the only thing you can change or refresh the suspension and bushes with new standard stuff if worn .
  19. Eibach do front and rear anti roll bars, the rear anti roll bar on its own makes a huge difference on the mk1 .
  20. octane and additives are two different things why do you think so many diesels have gunked up egrs , standard Esso petrol or diesel for example has cleaning additives supermarket fuel has no additives its just basic 95/99 petrol or basic diesel, some times its vapour recovery petrol as well the supermarkets will take anything, my point is the vrs tfsi suffers from coked valves giving poor mpg and poor performance poor quality fuel will do this ,
  21. Just a thought is your turbo oil feed hose leaking and seeping onto the engine and giving off a smell ? its a common fault on older cars .when i serviced my car last week i had a small bit of oil on the undertray from the back of the engine and it looks like its coming from the turbo feed , i have a smell when my car is warm and parked up running .
  22. my old 20tfsi would show around 30mpg on the dash on my daily 10 mile commute, i got fed up with filling up all the time and sold it and bought a pd170 vrs and never looked back i get 50mpg on the same commute now and alot cheaper tax as well , yours seems a bit low from what you say , i would get the wheel alignment checked and a full service done if due and when was the fuel filter last changed ? Avoid supermarket fuel its cheap for a reason no additives are injected into it to help clean the engine,
  23. A remap can make the care more efficient and actually improve mpg depending on how you drive
