  1. Hi all hope you're well, I have a 1.4tdi combi 2007, in the service information for QG0 it mentions changing the oil in the Haldex clutch every 18000 miles ish. my questions are, What is a Haldex clutch? Does my car have one? Is it linked to brake fluid system in any way ? Cheers M
  2. hmmm I think i'll just see how it goes as I only have 60000 on my 2007 80bhp
  3. I agree that it is doubtful the clutch is worn as it is an intermittent noise, I would expect a worn clutch plate to be a more regular noise, gradually getting worse and slipping. The thrust bearing has got to be the main suspect, I assume that like all bearings when dry they work themselves toward self destruction if not dealt with?
  4. Any help welcome, For a while now my 1.4 TDI has made a strained honking noise (not the horn) when I lift off the clutch pedal and accelerate from a stop in first. It now does it in reverse from stop and is worse when the engine is cold. When the engine is warm it tends not to happen and if I accelerate hard and drop the clutch quick it does not happen. Is this just a quirk of the 1.4 or is it something I need to look at.......... Any ideas ??????
  5. Hi all, Up to now I have made good use of a copy of Elsawin 4.1, but windows 10 seems to have ruined that as it now will not work and tells me it unlicensed. which it probably is. So I am looking for a replacement, is the Haynes manual worth the money or is there a cheaper or better option???? cheers
  6. Hi, Please can someone tell me how to fit the straddling dowel and pin in the rear door of an 07 Fabia 1? Cheers
  7. Hi, having successfully removed the straddling pin and dowel from the window lifter of my Fabia 1 07 I am now ready to fit it back in, I have tried this only to lose the dowel into the door out the back of the fixing position. Does anyone have a method of fitting these and if you do would you share it with me? Happy Easter
  8. Hi, I have a 2007 Fabia 1 estate and just after buying it the spanner appeared and a gong sounded along with "inspec" on the little screen with the miles on it. Tried holding down the black knob for a while after turning on ignition no good, got a Vgate 450 tried to reset it no good. Vgate says its successfully changed it but it is still there..............................................Does anyone have a suggestion of what to try next or is there a reasonably priced diagnostic near Worcester that can help me??????????????????????????? Thanks in advance for any help,
  9. ok great thanks for the info, i'll look out for a bargin on ebay
  10. Hi, does anyone know if a vgate vs450 will do everything it says it will on my 2007 Fabia 1? in particular changing the oil service period and so on. Cheers
  11. Thanks for the information, I had connected the red, yellow and blue wires incorrectly, the blue wires if connected send 12v to the wrong places causing central locking issues. Connect yellow to red and red to yellow all good. Also found an easy way to remove a stubborn head unit on an 07 Fabia. 1. take out a few blank switches above the unit 2. put the correct removal keys in the unit (Kenwood). Then use a long piece of steel bar with the end bent 90 degrees, put hook end into gap above unit made by removing blank switches and push it back and down behind the head unit give it a good pull and the unit comes free. Thanks for help.
  12. Hi, I have discovered that Kenwood keys remove 07 Fabia I stereos very easy. But once I fitted the new pioneer, I found my central locking no longer works. Does anyone know why this has happened?????????
