  1. Here's a quick update on the problem thanks UrbanPanzer's suggestion. On checking again, it was the rear fog lamp and screen wash warning lights that flickered on only when the headlamps were turned on, however they don't come on when you flash the headlamps! I replaced the O/S headlamp bulb, (projector type) which turned out not to be working after all, however the rear fog and screen washer warning lights still came on. I then replaced the rear fog lamp bulb, but still both the warning lights came on with the headlamps! This is really weird - has anyone else experienced this type of fault?
  2. Hi, My 2013 Mk2 Fabia Reaction has suddenly started showing dashboard warnings for the lights and screen washer only when I rotate the light control to headlights - there's no screen washer warning unless put the head lights on! On investigation I found that the offside headlamp wasn't working. I also noticed that the warning lights changed their level of illumination intermittently making me think that this could be a shared high resistance earth problem effecting both the offside headlamp and screen washer given they both physically located in the same area. If this is cause, can anyone point me in the direction of the earth point for these two components? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
  3. Hi Glassy, I've had the car from new, so I doubt if it's been replaced since it left the factory, however I'll check with Skoda dealer to see if the problem is covered by their 12 year body warranty before I go down the DIY fix route. Chris
  4. Hi Glassy, it is the original windscreen that was fitted when the car was manufactured. Chris
  5. Hi, With all this wet weather we've had lately, I've noticed that when open the boot on my 65 plate Reaction Fabia, water drips down on to the parcel shelf from the high level pencil stop light enclosure!! Has any other member experienced this problem? All I can think is that the top windscreen seal has failed, allowing water from rear foil above it to drip into the space between the glass and frame. Unless someone has alternative suggestion, I'm thinking of applying Captain Trolley penetrating leak sealer into small gap at the top between the windscreen glass and frame to see if fixes the problem. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks
  6. Problem solved!! Believe it or not, both headlamp bulbs, (Bosch +90's) had failed simultaneously. Just to be sure, I found a spare set of H7 bulbs and tried them and sure enough they worked! How bizarre that both bulbs should fail at exactly the same moment. I'm now back on the road and thanks to everyone who contributed their thoughts on the problem. PS - any suggestions for a high output replacement bulb as the OEM versions are not very good?
  7. I didn't get any bulb failure warning, so I don't think that the bulbs have failed.
  8. Hi AMD87, all the dashlights still work - everything works apart from the headlamps. I don't think that its a simultaneous headlamp bulb failure.
  9. Hi, Can anyone shed any light on this problem? Apologies for the unintentional pun!! I went to switch on the headlamps, (H7 projectors) on my 2013 Fabia Reaction this evening and nothing happened!! I checked the fuse, (#36 - main beam) and it was ok, but still no light - is there a solenoid somewhere that might have failed? All other driving lights work fine, (side, DR and fog), including the dipping function but no headlights!! Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Chris
  10. I just want to report that I got my rear wheel arch liners fitted today by a Hampshire Skoda dealer body-shop and well pleased with the end result on a white Citigo! I found an excellent and definitive guide on an European Up! forum that uses the VW e Up! parts that are also a good fit for the Skoda Citigo http://www.upsociety.de/index.php/Attachment/4556-Anleitung-up-Radhausschalen-nachr%C3%BCsten-pdf/ however you need to join to view the guide; it's in German, but the pictures speak a thousand words! My thanks also to TumzDK who sent me pictures of an installation he did on an Up! that explianed the mystery of the un-allocated liner holes mentioned previously in this post - there's a self adhesive fitting that's attached to the inside of the rear bumper.Makes the whole rear bumper a lot more rigid! Basically, the above fitting guide and parts list makes for a straight forward installation.
  11. Hi TumzDK, please can you tell me how the parts in your photo fit with the arch liner? Many Thanks, Chris
  12. Thanks for looking SJRT, I think I've found the VW Up! posting where the e Up! liners are recommended, http://www.upownersclub.co.uk/forum/ordered-rear-wheel-arch-liners_topic4671_page1.html?KW=arch+liners over the Cross Up! with their corresponding part numbers. BTW, did you need any other parts in addition to the e Up! liners as I notice that the Up! posting part list above includes some items not listed in Owens fitting guide?
  13. SJRT - thanks for the tip about using the e UP! arch liners - do you have the part numbers?
  14. My wife has recently bought a 2015 Citigo to replace her aging 15 year old Lupo, but "shock-horror" we were surprised to discover that the Citigo isn't fitted with rear wheel arch liners! I This is a bit of an issue as we live in rural Hampshire where the roads in winter turn into rivers of mud and stones washed down from the fields - just the sort debris to fill up all those nooks and crannies and quietly start the unseen corrosion process just like it was on the Brit cars of the 70's! So fitting rear wheel arch liners is a "no-brainer" for us, however I gather from previous posts that the recommended liners are intended for the Cross Up! which has external bumper side moldings which means the liner will protrude from the outside edge of the Citigo bumper. Owens has done a fantastic job producing a technical installation guide, however what I would also like to know is: Can the liner edge be easily trimmed to fit the Citigo bumper profile and if so is it also necessary/recommended to fit rear mud flaps to provide a fixing point for the liner's free external edge? Any fitting advice/tips would be much appreciated.
  15. Hi, Just a few lines to introduce myself as a new member with a Fabia Reaction. This is my first Skoda car, (previously I've bought VW) and I must say how impressed I am with the build quality and finish for such a competitively priced auto. Having looked at the super mini competition, the Fabia wins hand down on value and space. I've had the car for a couple of months and now getting used it, however there are few things that I would like to improve - like the lack luster headlamps!! Apart from these small issues, I'm well impressed!! Cheers for now and I look forward to enjoying and contributing to this community.
