Mk3 Octavia VRS front undertray attachment
RobABarker replied to RobABarker's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I'm aware I'm replying to my known post, but the problem I'm having is that the panel with the speed nut / metal fastener on it is moving up and out of the way when I'm trying to screw into it. Is there a way of holding it down / in place while I do it? -

Hi all, A couple of weeks ago, my partner managed to catch the front end of our 2019 Octavia VRS estate on a high kerb, scuffing the underside of the bumper, and pulling the frontmost undertray off at the same time. I was pretty surprised by how easily the panel had come loose, but I later saw that it should have been held in place by a few Torx screws, all of which were missing.😡 Anyway. I've just been out putting new screws where they should have been, but I can't get the ones at the ends to go in. From what I can tell, they go through the bumper and the tray, before going into a hole in a metal clip in the panel above. Can I just check that I've got that right, and that I'm not missing anything?

My family car is a 2019 Octavia VRS Estate, which I've owned for around a year, and which does the job very well. The only problem is that my son insists on growing, and now that he's nearly 2 years old he can kick the back of the front seat from his child seat. Can anyone recommend a decent seatback protector, and possibly something to stop him kicking the door card? I tried a 'normal' protector which has a strap that would go around the headrest posts, but as my Octavia has a 'built in' headrest it didn't work very well. I've considered duct tape or an amputation at a push, but I'm willing to accept other suggestions.

Missing functions on 2019 VRS infotainment?
RobABarker replied to RobABarker's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Okay, quick update. Here's a photo of my infotainment unit and the software version, as well as a shot of the 'selection' menu, which lacks a 'sport' option. I've managed to get the route directions up on the Maxidot display, that was my fault for not having a route set! However, there isn't a lap time option. -
This is probably a stupid question, but is there a significant difference between what's shown in the owner's manual vs what's actually available in terms of info on the UK infotainment system? I've read that the lap timer function isn't available as standard, is this also the case for the 'sporty' details like boost pressure etc? Also, I can't seem to find any option to bring up navigation or even 'next step' directions on the Maxidot, is that not available either?

This might be a stupid question, but I've seen plenty of posts recommending Superskoda for parts, but the site doesn't seem to exist anymore. When I Google it, Kopacek.com comes up, is this the same site that's since been rebranded?

Hi all, Having been away for some time, I'm venturing back into the world of Skoda ownership! I previously had a 2000 1.6-litre Felicia GLXI, which succumbed to the dreaded rust amongst other issues and was likely crushed into a cube many years ago. Fast forward to last week and I've put a deposit down on a 2019 Octavia VRS 245 Estate, which I'm picking up on Friday! Photos to follow, but I thought I'd best get my foot in the door and get back on Briskoda while I remembered.

Hi all, Last year I part-exed my W-reg Chili Red 1.6 Felicia (W945LAJ) and I was wondering if it's still about in the North West. I'm not looking to buy it back, but if anyone sees it in a scrapyard then it might be worth you scavenging for parts. I've checked and it isn't on the road according to the DVLA. One of the front wheel bearings was shot but it had a brand new gear linkage that I had imported from the Czech Republic, making gear changes feel a lot less vague. It also had a brand new thermostat but those probably aren't as in demand! Also, if anyone happens to want a Haynes manual for a Felicia then I've got one spare. Cheers!

Hi all, I'm having yet another problem with my Felicia 1.6 GLXI :'( The nearside front caliper was sticking on, so I had a garage recondition it with a new piston, and all seems well (it doesn't pull to the left anywhere near as much as before). Unfortunately there's now a weird electronic whine/hum coming from just behind the engine (but in front of the heater/ventilation intake). Oddly this starts as soon as you turn the key in the ignition, before you even start the engine. I've checked and the blower isn't on. I've recorded the noise in the hope that you can help me out, if not then fair enough, these things can be hard to diagnose via the internet! https://soundcloud.com/rob-barker-13/skoda-whine Cheers.

Hi all, I'll be selling my Felicia soon (most likely part ex-ing it). To try and make it look as attractive as possible I'm hunting down some little finishing touches and could do with a new parcel shelf. Sadly the one that came with the car had a pair of speakers stuck in it but not attached to anything. Over time one of the speakers has fallen out, leaving me with a gaping hole. If anybody knows where I can find a new shelf that would be great! Cheers, Rob

Hi all, I'm looking for a part for my 2000 1.6 Felicia GLXi and I can't track it down. I need the frame/clip that attaches to the bottom of the gear stick gaiter, holding it in place in the hole in the centre console. Unfortunately the tabs have snapped off mine so the gaiter is now loose. I had a quick look at the VAG parts catalogue and it doesn't seem to be listed, just the gaiter, which I assume is only the faux-leather part, rather than the frame as well. Does anyone know where I can find the clip/frame? Cheers!
