Sorry to hijack this thread, but I have a similra query. I've got a damaged dial on my steering wheel controls, so I'm looking to replace them. It'll be a direct replacement, as I alreadt have a MFSW. What coding would I need to do, and does it have be through VCDS, or can OBDeleven do the job?

Infotainment retrofitting

Dammit, you’ve just eliminated one the biggest reasons not to get an Amundsen😜. I guess I’m going to be trawling eBay now. -

Yeah, I’m not fussed with factory nav, if I can connect my iPhone with Smartlink, then, that’ll do me. It also means I won’t have to drill a hole in the roof, and start running cables in the car. I’ll do a bit of research and see if there’s any other benefit, apart, from the nav, that would sway me to an Amundsen unit. -

I’m looking to give my VRS a bit of a spruce up, and one thing I’m thinking of is changing the stereo. I was just thinking of swapping my current MIB1 Bolero for MIB2 Bolero, unless anyone can convince me of the benefits of a Columbus/Amundesn system. Anyway, if I did a Bolero swap, would I just need the CP removing? Or would it need coding as well? -
This is my first Skoda, but not my first VAG car. It's a VRS TDi and I absolutely love it. Loads of room for two kids and all their stuff, decent build quality, great price, a 0-60 time near 8 seconds, i once got an indicated mpg of nearly 60 on a motorway run, and £30 car tax. What's not to like. I've had so many complimentary comments about the car, the performance, practically and looks. The only negatives I've had are people who said the only reason they wouldn't have it is because of the badge. More fool them, IMO. The only negative is that it's not quite as fun to drive as my FR was, but it's a close thing.

Alloy Gators fitted to VRS Gemini wheels

I knew someone would ask. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to take a photo. You'll just have to take my word for it. Needless to say, I'm of the opinion that it's money well spent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

For all those who doubt the effectiveness of alloygators, I hit a pothole this morning. As you can see the damage was extensive. It's cost me a new tyre, but there is no damage to the rim. Definitely worth the money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Overtaking a shorter, but wider, group of cyclists, is safer than over taking a narrower, but longer, group. You may have to move more into the other lane, but you're in it for less time.

Just a quick one. My Metal Grey VRS TDi with black pack. I picked it up on Monday, and boy, am I pleased. Loving it so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I picked a VRS up yesterday, and the FBSW didn't have a VRS badge. Would be good if this could be fitted at a later date. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rear bumper Protector VRS Estate
dpriestley replied to Bigyin246's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
@ Crogers, can I just confirm you have a hatchback and not an estate. Rearguards themselves say they don't have one that will fit, but if you've got it on, that'll do for me. -
Just had a call that my VRS TDi hatch has arrived at the dealers. I get to pick it up on Monday. This is going to be a long week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Spot on thanks, looks class. It should go really well with the Metal Grey. Now all I need is the car. -

Aye, if you could. The website doesn't show it too well. -

Cheers. Next question, I'm taking delivery of a metal grey VRs soon. I'm tempted to go for the carbon rearguard, but think it might look daft. Would the black look better? -

Will this one, http://www.rearguards.co.uk/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=prodshow&ref=RBP603 fit the VRS hatchback. I can only see a reference to the VRS estate on their website. And for those who were wondering, I assume rearguards class this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0koda_Octavia_(1959%E2%80%9371) as a mark 1 Octavia. -
I ordered a VRS at the beginning of April and have been given a provisional build week of BW26. Looking at this, I should get a 2015 spec car, shouldn't I? I hope so, I like the squared off steering wheel. I had one on a Leon FR I had, and didn't have any issues with it at all.
