  1. Do you have any pictures of it you could send me? My current Columbus seems to have a broken amplifier board. Also, I have a spare Amundsen which doesn't turn on, would you be interested in that?
  2. It's an original Columbus as mine is the Elegance spec. It has just started this problem within the last week, I've had the car over a year now. Upto now the whole unit has been working well.
  3. I have a very weird problem with my Columbus navigation system. It won't play audio from Aux, HDD or SD, nor will it find any radio stations. I know the audio side of things is fine because the reverse bleep comes on (along with optical parking), and also via VCDS I can make sound come out of each speaker. The navigation works fine, and I can access all the menus fine. Any ideas what the issue might be? I've tried resetting by holding the top four buttons. It's difficult doing long journeys with no audio!
  4. I'm quite underwhelmed with the Columbus sound system - as I was with the RNS510 in my passat. I'd like to improve it this time. Has anyone modified their stereo? In my experience, VAG fit good speakers to their cars, the problem is lack of amplifier power. There are two options I'm thinking of : 1. making a loom that uses a line-out converter from each Columbus speaker channel, feeds it through a proper power amp fitted somewhere behind the glovebox, and then passes the amplified sound to the speakers. 2. more conventional approach of just adding a small sub, perhaps in a custom parcel shelf. Any thoughts?
  5. I'm currently due to replace the tyres on my Superb. Looking at the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance due to their low rolling resistance and low noise. Any thoughts on these vs the P7's?
  6. Collected the car, there are a few niggles to sort out but I'll get to those this morning. Oddly, the car is more efficient in town than on the motorway for me?! 65mpg in town and 60 motorway. I'll be doing a full service (oil + filter, air filter, pollen filter, fuel filter and maybe a coolant flush as well). I usually do this when I buy a car anyway
  7. I'm a bit of an imposter for now - I've not yet bought my Skoda, but I will be collecting a Fabia 1.4 tdi this evening It's a 2008. I'm buying it via a classifieds website What should I look out for? I have owned the following cars in the recent past: VW Golf MK2 VW Golf MK5 1.9 tdi VW Passat 2.0 TDi B6 Audi A4 3.2 FSI Quattro I have a VAG-com HEX+CAN so will try and scan the car if possible. Here's to Skoda :P
