  1. I have a spare wheel kit and boot liner for sale for a Citigo. Can't work out how to set up advert in 'parts for sale'. Says I need to be a 'Freedom' member, what's that? Not very clear to us non techy chaps. Cheers
  2. Thanks Guys for all your responses. Think I am going to remove clips at the weekend and secure it with some double sided sticky tape. The clips don't inspire confidence and look a mess when fitted. Cheers.
  3. Hi folks. Just fitted some HEKO window rain deflectors to my 5 door colour edition. The fitting instructions are absolute rubbish and in particular the fitting of the plastic securing clips that secure the deflector to the window channel. A mate who is an ex-technician has also had a look at it and agrees that the instructions are rubbish and has fitted the clips however, they don't seem very secure. Has anyone else fitted this brand and what are their experiences. Be grateful for any advice you can give, are there any other suitable fixing methods that have worked for you guys? Thanks
  4. Yes, I agree with everyone one else. I have owned both the 60ps and now have the 75ps version, under 4000 rpm there is no difference between the two variants. Above 4000 rpm the rate of acceleration tails off on the 60ps where the 75 keeps going. Under normal driving you won't notice the difference. At 70mph the 60ps is doing 3000 rpm and the 75ps is pulling 3250rpm so the former is slightly more relaxed. I regularly do a 200 mile journey to Cornwall and both variants are fine. If I was to choose again I wouldn't pay the extra for the 75ps, it's not worth it. Cheers.
  5. Hi, I had the 60ps green tech and now have the 75ps sel. I found with both of them that they loosened up properly between 2 - 3000 miles. They are never going to perform like a formula 1 car, however they are a joy to drive! Yes, you will need to drop a cog on a steep incline but they're a rev happy little engine - I love em! Also remember, that courtesy cars are driven by everyone and when driven by an 18 year old who's producing to much testosterone they will soon bed in, I'm sure you will be delighted with it! By the way, below 4000 rpm there is no difference on acceleration between the two variants. The 75ps is only felt above 4000. I much prefer the Citigo to the UP, the build quality is on a par with the UP, the front styling is much less girly and if I'm going to be hit up the rear I'd rather have some metal between me and the car behind rather than a piece of glass. Enjoy, I'm sure you will be delighted with it! Cheers.
  6. Hi folks, just traded in my 63 plate se greentech for a pre reg 65 plate SE L 75ps with 10 miles on the clock for £7995 on the road. Also included the protection pack and sill protectors thrown in with deal - absolute bargain!!! However it is plagued with trim rattles from the n/s door and dash board. My previous SE had the problem with the door rattle that the dealer couldn't cure. Does anyone else have the same issues - is it common? Finally can anyone recommend a good dealer in the West Midlands/Worcestershire, not impressed with the Trust Skoda group to date at both their Stourbridge or Wolverhampton branch due to poor workmanship. I have looked in dealer reviews but there doesn't seem to be any up to date reviews. Thanks guys.
  7. Hi Grale Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your citigo. The noise that sounds like a blowing exhaust is normal. This is a combination of a 3 pot engine noise and the use of plastics for the engine manifolds - its a characteristic and nothing for concern. The rough idling and vibration is another thing. These engines are silky smooth at idle speed, did you drive it before the exhaust failure and if so was it apparent then? If not, it sounds very much like the replacement exhaust hasn't been fitted correctly and is possibly fouling against the body or associated ancillaries. I would take it back and ask them to fix it. What was wrong with your Clutch pedal? These are noted for clicking when depressing the pedal, or did the pedal fail completely? It seems that you have been very unlucky with your car so far. These are cracking cars, take that from a car sceptic who has for a number of years bought new Ford KAs and got used to them spending lots of time in the workshop. Skoda could certainly teach Ford how to screw a new car together. I'm sure once you get these initial problems sorted you'll be delighted with it.
  8. Hi folks I have a 63 plate citigo se 60ps greentech and am hoping you can help me with a couple of problems as follows: The dreaded rattle from the gearbox in 5th gear at 200rpm that disappears at 2500 rpm, I know that this has been done to death on various forums but has anyone any idea if Skoda are looking into this. When the weather temperature is warm outside the noise seems to be quiter and disappears at lower revs - 2000 rpm. It seems that it could be the oil viscosity that could be causing this as when the oil is hotter the noise isn't as bad. I would have thought the tech guys at VW/Skoda would have sorted this issue by now even if it was a matter of fitting metal sound deadoning pads to the gearbox case. My second issue is the clutch. From new the clutch has had a 'growling' noise to it. This is apparent when the car is stationary and the clutch pedal fully depressed. If you then rev the engine this noise is apparent - found it by accident even though I don't make a habit of doing this. i had a vibration through the clutch pedal when changing gear and the dealer fitted a new clutch last week which cured that particular problem. Apparantly one of the diaphragm fingers was out of line. I was hoping that by fitting a new clutch that this would also cure the growling 'Grrr Grrr' noise but it hasn't. Do other owners suffer with these noises particular noises and if so, what are their take on this. Regards YBR1
