  1. Yeah I needed a bigger boot for my Golf Clubs tbh but decided that I can manage
  2. My plan B was a MK7 Golf R DSG, decided I could live without the VRS' large boot for a couple of years
  3. My plan B was to use one of my parents cars until it arrived, but due to a change in circumstances and my head (Octavia VRS) being ruled by my heart (something quick), my heart won so I cancelled the Metal Grey VRS Combi Manual TDI order...........
  4. I know when I specced both, The VRS came out at 26.5K (GBP) and the A4 at £35K, seems in Sweden that Skodas are more expensive and Audi's Cheaper than in UK
  5. Youur credit r Think of your credit report like Ebay feedback, Paying on time and in full is Positive, defaulting is Negative, VT'ing your car is a Neutral, it is placed on your credit record that you have done that, lots of finance companies will NOT lend to people who have had a VT on their record as basically your removing half of their profit margin (Which they do NOT like).
  6. Skoda dealer in cornwall (Indian Queens) has a silver one, Manual TDI combi, I test drove that one http://www.helstongarages.co.uk/used-cars/16116/skoda-octavia/ £22k
  7. Webuyanycar are shocking, would avoid like the plague unless you are VERY desperate!, (there is enough negative press about them), just got a quote for my car, came back at £8780, private sale £13K ono. Personally speaking I would sell the car via Ebay/Autotrader/Pistonheads/Gumtree etc (just watch out for all the numpty scammers who want to pay with paypal annd collect the car etc, AVOID. If you stick it on for £8500 and it sells for £8K, after your £70 Autotrader/Ebay fees you will be left £330 better off, its upto you to decide if you think a few hours work is worth the money, if it sells for more than £8k................. Personal preference, if it was me and it was going to be less than £400 I would not bother, over that figure and yes I would do it myself
  8. Have not notices anything dissapear from the configurator, but did notice they finally added the 19" wheel option
  9. Pretty sure the A4 Quattro in Uk is around £35K compared to £26k for VRS
  10. I read somewhere that expected depreciation on the new VRS would be 56% in 3 years, based on that the £26K VRS will be worth £11440 in 3 years
  11. I went with Jet Lease and they pre-ordered some too, I got allocated one of them and they are "Tweaking" the spec to my spec for build week 21.
  12. I agree its worthwhile for those who do lots of miles on crappy roads and are driving with limited time, but I am in no rush so should I get delayed by a few hours or even a Day its no great worry
  13. The lease company pre-ordered them some time before I placed my order, they have build week 21 (Mid-late May) and expect the car to be with me mid-june, hence they are stating Mid-June, if it had been ordered (without them having 2 on pre-order) they told me it would have been Mid August Not seen it in the flesh no, but looks similar to VAG Steel grey in pictures (IMO)
  14. I live in cornwall where its been raining/Flooding/hailstoning for pretty much the last 3 months, my metallic Grey BMW 330D hides the muck well so figured the VRS would too
  15. Lol, thats funny as my brother was trying to talk me out of the VRS and into a BMW 520D Touring today, apparently some very good lease offers on them.
  16. I used Jet leasing and dealt with Louis, I chose the Anthracite as I dont like the look of the Pictoris Silver wheels on a Grey car, If I was going for white or Silver I might have had silver wheels  I am hoping for 4 months based on what he said
  17. I prefer the red stitching on the steering wheel/gear lever/carpet mats and the grey stitching on the seats, I went for Red!
  18. Thanks What swung it was my mother and father are both getting new cars which are both Autos so i can borrow one of them for the trips from Cornwall to Manchester and with what everyone was saying about DSG with TDI, I test drove a Manual VRS combi and liked that so I am sure I can happily stir the box for another couple of years then decide if I want an Auto full time. Not bothered with a spare wheel as I have full roadside coverage with AA and (dare I say it?) I have never had a puncture in 23 years of driving! Forgot to request colour of seat trim on order form might drop them an email asking for grey as I think it will suit the Grey car with Anthracite wheels, or maybe Red to offset all the grey, aaarrghhhhh what have you done!
  19. Also ordered Metal Grey Lease company have pre-orders in and I am told its build week 21.
  20. Well after much deliberation about waiting times, colours/options and whether to go manual or DSG I finally made a decision and completed my order form today. Originally I planned on VRS TDI Combi DSG in Meteor Grey, Black Pack, Cruise Control, Sunset Glass Actually Ordered today VRS TDI Combi (Manual) in Metal Grey, Black Pack, Cruise Control, Sunset Glass Reason for my change in colour was I like the look of Metal grey and reason I changed from DSG is that due to a change of cars in my family I now have the use of an Auto car for my 6 long stop/start trips up the M5/M6 Glad its all finally sorted and now look forward to 6 months time when I get my new car. **Edit** Been told by Lease company that they have 2 pre-ordered VRS Combi with changeable spec, so they are going to change one of them to my spec, they have been told build week 21 for Mid June delivery
  21. As I am self employed, BIK does not matter, I don't pay it, in fact having the VRS (Calculated by my accountant) will reduce my tax bill by £900 per year Main reasons for me getting an Octy 3 Combi is for the space inside (Snowboarder and Golfer, both of which need space in the boot) and the fact it has DSG which I want, had DSG on previous car and realise after 12 months that I miss not changing gear! Had a chat with the Lease company this morning and the 1.4TSI is a non starter due to GFV (Future value), depreciation makes petrol more expensive than the Diesel VRS, my other option is 2.0TDI elegance which I considered, but after a night thinking about it, I think the VRS is what I want deep down.............
  22. I have applied to order a VRS with a lease company (paperwork going through now, should be ready to actually place order next week!). My understanding is that the waiting/lead time for the VRS is approx 5-6 months currently and I have thought of going for an Elegance instead. My main reasons for going for an Octy 3 were the size of the boot (Keen snowboarder and Golfer) so space is required! As long as MPG is around 40+ I dont mind if its Petrol or Diesel. MY choice for the VRS is below. VRS TDI DSG Combi. Meteor Grey, Cruise control, Sunset Glass, Black pack. Where it gets interesting is that I could order the Elegance instead (and get a better specced car?) and possibly get quicker delivery for around £20-30pm less than the VRS (although the money is not really massive factor!) Elegance 1.4TSI DSG Combi (very similar quoted mpg figures as VRS TDI DSG) Metal Grey Metallic 18" Golus Wheels Bi-Xenons/AFS.Cornering fogs LED rear lights Sports Suspension Power closing Bootlid 3 Spoke Steering Wheel MFSW Sunset Glass Cruise control (Std Fitment) Amundsun Nav (Std Fitment) Not actually required tho! For the sake of 0.4 seconds difference in 0-60 its neither here nor there and although a 10mph difference in top speed I am only likely to ever see that if driving through germany on the autobahns so not really a factor.Financially the Elegance is around £1000 less overall compared to the VRS. What do you guys think?.
