What i mean is, having looked at the moldings around the auto gear shift and cigar power point, is, or has some one removed the molded panel work and in what order or can i pull it strait up and out? As the part of the plug is stuck fast in the bottom of the socket and will not come out. Have tried plyers, hocking a wire around it, magnets etc put its stil will not come out. so any helpful ideas please. thanks.

I have got part of a power plug stuck in the front Cigar Light socket..... Can I remove the Cigar Lighter Socket without taking the front of my car? Colin.

Yes ok have ordered a 'hopfully' good bike maintenance book and do most of the jobs myself, don't mind a bit of spannering anyway. Keep my bike in the hall by front door and have 2, only a £ each, tea trays so that the wheels don't mark the floor.

I've just got a Jamis BosaNova 2015 model touring bike to replace a shag out old bike. A lovely bit of kit. But as a word of warning, got my Jamis from Evans Cycles at Gatwick with a free 6 week health check. So phoned up today to book said check up and was told " just drop it around mate and will look at it some time this week" a WEEK to service a bike is taking the p##s My Octavia only takes 2-3 hrs so staying away from that bunch of monkeys.

Spend x amount on a brand new car with a VW Climatic system in it and then complain 'cos one LED switches of when its running in auto !!!!! Leave my cars Climatic system in auto all the time and just adjust the temp if needed. Never have a misting up proplems regardless if its only me or 4 persons in the car with wet coats etc. Do have the winter pack so heated screen helps in the mornings, much reconmended.

Could it not be the humid stat, its on the rear view mirror facing the windscreen, keeping your windows from steaming up? The AC only runs up when needed so no need to shut it down, have a look at you energy use and its L per Km for AC will be zero in winter.

Hi all. Read a post like this last winter when I got my Elegance with the winter pack. You have to have the winter pack (in UK) to get heated front seats, heated washers and Heated Windscreen. To switch HWS on its the top half of the middle dial in the air con control range of buttons! The tick boxes are, as stated,for the aux heater that is mains operated and you plugin over night with and we (UK) are not alowwed to play with. HWS works very well as do back window and mirrors just waiting for heated side windows then no more ice scraping at 5 in the morning.

I have a elegance estate and yes fancy floor with no lashing points on it but you still get the lashing points on the boot sides and 4 fold out hooks plus the child seat points are on the back of the rear seats so you still have plenty of fixing points to hook too.

My Columbus and Dot Matrix show volume as a green line across the top of the screen both show together but if scrolling screens on Dot Matrix the image is fall size of screen until you stop on your selected screen (Dot Matrix) then it drops to normal! size and shows all other info in top and bottom bar. Yes mine came off and found it this morning when vacuming the car out. Came off the right hand back seat and one of the lugs looks broken. Must have come of when folding seats to get a washing machine in the back. Will this lead to a world wide recall!!!

Quick note for you. The head light washers only work when head lights on. Unlike the mk2's. So why switch it of ? Colin.

Giving my Octy mk3 a good wash and polish this week and noticed that between the front and back doors their is a rubber seal from top to bottom like on the mk2's but between the front wing and front doors its missing and their is a heaver rubber strip fixed to the hinged side of the front doors that only goes part of the way down. Unlike, as I remember, on the mk2's where its like the one between the two doors. Could this be the point of water ingress, and cost savings, that is trapping water?

I have a 1.6 diesel with the DSG box. I drive around mostly in eco mode as this steps down the climate control and throttle response and will drop out of gear when you left of the go button to save diesel but it will not coast if the CC is switch on. If I need to move of sharply say at a round-a-bout just tap the auto selector back, into sports mode, and away you go. Yes the first stop you come to on the throttle is for the 'kick down' and it works best with the DSG box , just peddle to the metal and your out of the problem. IMHO the SS and Driving Mode work best with the DSG box.
