  1. Many thanks for the replies. The car is in tomorrow but doubt they will have a sensor in stock. I will get it done as soon as for piece of mind.
  2. Thanks for that Mannyo, very informative. Just to be clear, given that the two fault codes for Exhaust Pressure Sensor and DPF Diff Pressure Sensor were recorded, is this a single G450 sensor that measures both parameters. Could this fault cause the fans to run at high speed or is that something else? Cheers.
  3. Hi, seems a regular topic. This could be coincidence but I have just had the Altitude Pressure Sensor replaced due to fault codes. A few hundred miles later get the P2453 DPF Diff pressure sensor fault and the P0472 Exhaust Pressure Sensor (are these two sensors combined?). The curious thing is that this was coupled with the fans running at full tilt (as when the DPF is doing a regen and the engine revs at tickover increase) constantly, even though engine not up to temp. After about 30 miles the light went out but the fans kept on running at full speed. This morning I got the faults cleared and initially the fans were still running high but after a 10 mile drive these stopped and returned to normal revs. No warning lights on. Drove a further 8 miles and still OK. Is this familiar to anyone. What's going on? Car is booked in for Wednesday but if faults are intermittent? Thanks for any help.
  4. Thanks for the replies. brad1.8T. I agree entirely and hopefully Skoda will too when I get the bill. Carefully drove it in this morning so should get it back early next week. I have read much about the way springs are manufactured in europe v say for Japanese vehicles and the problems this causes. Coupled with the state of UK roads etc.
  5. Hi, car just over 3 years old and the offside front spring has just snapped. Anyone else had this problem and any help from Skoda forthcoming? I know its a symptom of the speed hump menace but I haven't hit any pot holes recently and I'm surprised its failed on a relatively young vehicle. Cheers, T
  6. Hi Andrew/Stuart, thanks for the extra information on the phone. When I opened the box it was actually set to 2;0 so I have adjusted to 2;2. I am still testing it out but initially there does seem a bit more grunt compared to 2;0 so I am going to see how this goes for a while. I must say I am really enjoying the experience of the extra power and as many people have said my Scout now feels like a different car. My commute is very hilly so the extra torque when I put my foot down is very noticeable. Thanks again.
  7. I am on 205/55 R16 all round as Winter tyres. This is the full size spare that Skoda supplied as per posts above and also what is on the fuel filler cap. The alloys on the Scout are 17 inch and come with 225/50/R17.
  8. I bought genuine Skoda 16 inch wheels for my Scout from new and at the time were about £200. So they've done 3 Winters and are now quite rusty. Even after the first Winter this was noticable. I've got off what I can and overpainted a couple of times but they still don't look nice. I use covers anyway so it doesn't matter what they look like to me, but suffice it to say that being a genuine part doesn't protect them from the deterioration you would expect. However, they are not that much more expensive. I've just bought another one to use as a spare and it was £67 inc. VAT so they have gone up a bit in 3 years like everything else.
  9. I have just ordered a matching spare 205/55/R16 TS850 for my Scout to fit onto a steel wheel. I've got away with only carrying a Summer spare over the years but would rather be able to keep motoring rather than panicking over getting a puncture fixed. The roads generally are now so bad that punctures may be more likely.
  10. Yes they are. That's why I have the new ones already but while it's wet and mild I can get another 1k miles out of them. As soon as it gets colder I'll swap them over.
  11. Mine have been on my Scout a few weeks now just for convenience really. I had a service and first MOT so it was easy to get them put on at the same time. Also trying to get a bit more out of them before proper Winter weather comes as they're down to 4mm. I've been running these Michelin Alpins for about 4 Winters but have decided to give the Conti TS850s a go as they seem to get good reviews. I bought them in the Summer while stocks were good and prices reasonable. I'm high up in the Peak by the way so they will be on until at least March. Or if last year around here was anything to go by until May.
  12. My Scout also came with the Dunlops and I disliked them as much as the ones that came on my previous Octavia 4x4. I got about 15k out of them but I swap from Summer to Winter tyres so I can't be certain. Most of my driving is up and down hills so don't expect the great mileage figures that some folk seem to get. I recently fitted Michelin Primacy 3s and so far have been impressed with the grip and lower noise than the Dunlops produced. I decided to give the Michelins a go as I was impressed with the wear I have got from my Alpin Winter tyres, not a fair comparison maybe given the different compounds etc but I'm hoping that the quality of materials is relative.
  13. Cheers silver 1011. This thread doesn't specifically mention my problem. Although adjustment was necessary I didn't encounter any of the bad ride/steering related issues alluded to. There was just slight excessive wear on the inside of one of the rear tyres.
  14. I have just had 4 new tyres fitted so I had the 4 wheel alignment checked. This was the first time this has been done since I bought the car from new. Not surprisingly it was out, not by miles, but enough to warrant adjustment. In the process it was discovered that the offside rear toe adjustment was already at the maximum of it's range of adjustment. The car is standard suspension and I haven't had a bump. Has anyone come across this either on a Scout or any other Octavia? Secondly any ideas as to how this could come about on a "from new" car? Thanks.
  15. Cheers guys, warranty is up in October so thinking about it for then.
