  1. Will be interesting to see if the rear camera makes it to the UK given VW have just pulled it as an option on the new Golf. Seems mixture under estimating demand and other "technical issues". VW Customer services confirming it's an option that will not return to the UK Golf
  2. You can see more re what might happen here from this month's Autoexpress. Full article also talks about new infotainment from the Golf/Octy bring included. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/yeti/64978/skoda-yeti-2014-pictures
  3. Facelift slightly better "For motoring excitement, we suggest you turn to the 3.6L V6 hatch which has protected its title as SKODA’s fastest production car by shaving a tenth of a second off its 0-62mph time – now 6.4s. It is also 9% cleaner than before (215g/km CO2) with mpg up by 2.4mpg to 30.4mpg. The downside is, it costs at least £30,510 OTR (Elegance trim)" So £280 yr on current rates
  4. Will take a 3.6 L&K for a test drive as seat comfort biggest purchase concern. Is it true different seat to Elegance? Would be the ventilated seats.
  5. At the moment 3 hopes. No Hope. Bob Hope and envelope. Only matter of time but current small print reads below *0% VAT model inclusions: All Fabia models (excluding 25-per-cent-off and Monte Carlo Tech models), Roomster, remaining 2012 Octavia Estate (excluding Scout and SE Connect models) Superb Hatch models (excluding facelift) and Superb Estate petrol models (excluding facelift).
  6. According to press release we also have 2 new colours "The Superb’s exterior is now available in two additional metallic finishes: Meteor Grey and Moon White...."
  7. Worldwide major DSG recalls going on. As usual us Brits miss out - for now Volkswagen UK has revealed that it sees no reason to issue a recall for its seven-speed dual shift DSG gearbox equipped cars, saying that the problems that have led to recalls in other parts of the world for cars fitted with the same part are a result of specific climatic and driving conditions. This week VW, Audi and Skoda issued a recall in Australia and New Zealand for cars fitted with the gearbox, codenamed DQ200, as a result of a fault with its mechatronic system. That added to recalls already issued in China, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia, and followed 100 complaints from VW owners in Australia relating to an apparent power loss. However, although the Australian-specification VW's use the same DQ200 gearbox as UK cars, a spokesman explained: "It is a problem that relates only to temperate countries with a high incidence of stop and start driving. It requires a set of circumstances - humidity, temperature, dust and congested driving conditions - that we simply don't see in the UK. "We have robust systems in place to monitor potential problems and, although we have around 48,000 cars on the road equipped with DG200 gearboxes, we haven't seen any failures that we can attribute to this problem." 8. Gents. Having a serious look at new 3.6 L&K with the new Ivory trim. Drive the deal have great deals to null the pain. Looking at fun factor over running cost but still interested in what mpg you guys are getting. Also come rain/winter that 4wd make real diff or just nice comforting factor. Cheers
  9. with £7k off a new one very tempted to join you. Could be mid life crisis here too
  10. Also worth checking out Autoebid. Currently savings of £2,375 on your model (incl Met paint) which reflects level expected above. That includes broker's fee of £438 so might be more available if haggling with dealer. Used them twice without problems including current Superb. Also used DTD and they were equally good though, as noted, no Skoda option at the moment. Might use either of them again if the facelift ever materialises:)
  11. Thanks folks. Appreciated. Will check out Plenum and adopt CRC's technique as yep I reverse out. Last year with her anyway replacement time is here.
  12. Off and on noticed occasional smell exhaust fumes in cabin. Only happens briefly at start up and then goes. Different dealers had couple of goes but found nothing. However, cold weather proved useful because when cold noticed that sometimes when starting up in morning nothing comes out of exhaust and instead seems to be come out from under centre of the car. After couple of minutes it's like a switch is flicked because exhaust kicks in nicely with expected white vapour. Will try exhaust specialist next but is there any logic here when starting from cold??
  13. Ha! yep. Gave me a taster of what it must be like to have a DPF diesel (no thanks). Next car defo petrol with a petrol gauge:)
