Hello there! I've just rejoined this group after being away for about 6 years. I had a red Skoda Octavia station wagon but sold it to replace windows in my house! I now have a 2016 white Octavia SW and it reminded me how nice these are to drive.
But....the car has developed a major fault in its emisssion control system which apparently costs AU$7,000 to repair. Yes, I was shocked too when the dealer's mechanic told me yesterday. They had just completed AU$1,550 worth of repairs on the parts but it was unsuccessful. They now need to replace the whole system and its harness. Can someone explain what these look like and where it is in the engine? Any bright, cost-saving ideas, would also be appreciated.
