  1. Very interesting read about the power increase mods and will be checking these out when the better weather arrives. Never ceases to amaze me how much time and of course money can be spent on a stock car to make it something unique and different. Cheers to all...
  2. Took a day to do and they loaned me a car. Power up from 170 to 212 Bhp and torque up from 321 to 435 Nm. VHub in Tewkesbury were the agents that did it and they were excellent and very knowledgeable. Really recommend as this has transformed the car. Still not sure about Dsg gearbox though, but maybe it's just me and I think I quite like changing gear...
  3. Late to the party as ever but just thought I would add some comments about my Octavia Vrs tdi which I had re-mapped about 10,000 miles ago by the Revo agent in Tewkesbury. Initial feelings driving away from the garage were that it was no difference but having driven my car across Europe and pretty much every road type and driving style is that it is noticeably different. The Dsg is never going to be great round town and to be honest I'm not convinced it's for me, but once you are on the move the torque is outstanding and it just pulls (using the flappies) up to the red and then you hit the next gear, staying in the power band and it is as fast as my old Golf R32. Fuel consumption is still high 40's. Gotta be honest, I bought this car because it was a lot of bang for your bucks and by having this re-mapped by those nice Revo chaps in Tewkesbury this has been transformed into the ultimate Q car and it is very fast now and I have to admit I am somewhat smitten with it's honesty and the way it just gets about covering big miles without any drama or fuss. Yes I invalidated my warrantly, but to be honest, what's a warranty worth nowadays? I change the oil often, just changed the Dsg oil at 40,000 for a crazy £220 but it needed it so it gets it and the Skoda dealer who did it naturally took it for a drive and announced "hell that's a quick car" and it is. So for £400 this was a very sensible, well researched addition to a very good Skoda. Is it wearing the wrong badge? of course. but does it matter when you are having fun? not a a jot. By a good, well built car and make it better. Oh and by the way. The ECU had to come out and on to the bench to do this but who cares? These guys know what they are doing so trust them...
