  1. I would try the ignition relay. I've dealt with a problem on old Fiestas where the engine and heater fans + the reverse lights won't work, flash the headlamps and the engine cuts out ! I know this is F#rd info but the ignition relay and any earth wires from it failing, can cause headaches.
  2. Nah don't like it, looks too Golfy / Audi / Rapid with Octy boot. I'll stick with my Fabia 2. Looks that little bit different. Too many manufacturers have the ' corporatate ' image on every car. Soooooooo boring BMW , Ford Audi , Volvo, all models looking the same only in different sizes. Forget thinking up new names for them, it should be small, medium, large, extra large
  3. Try 'dabonwheels' they offer the Pure and another unit called the Beat400. The write ups on the site seem positive ( and last time I looked offered a money back guarantee ) I might try them for my Fabia this year. I'm used to the controls for my OE swing unit and after reading other postings regarding odd behaviour of aftermarket units I'm loathe to change it. Having this type of add on of course means plug in cables to the 3.5 and the 12v socket. But as I will only use it for longer journeys that for me is not much of a problem.
  4. I would like to possibly help on the other issue of a 'pongy' interior. I've found the best thing to use is one of the hand held steamers. I bought mine from Ebay for about £14. ( It got rid of the pungent smell of cat wee from my door mat ) . No chemicals needed and does not leave seats, carpets or headliner soggy. Buy or borrow one and give it a try.
  5. The grey/blue is not on my radio loom so I spliced into the headlight height adjuster illumination.( still grey/blue ) This part is removable from light switch without taking dash apart. Bit of a squeeze getting hand up the back of dash above nik nak space, but It now allows a bit of light to the area in front of gearstick from my LED shining down from under radio.
  6. Spliced into grey/blue on light switch headlight height adjuster illumination. This bit of the switch is removable without taking the dash to bits. Now sorted and happy
  7. Yep Grey / blue it is then.........Happy now my under dash area is a bit brighter. Thanks all : )
  8. Hi fabdavrav, just found your wiring for radio connections, perhaps you can help me. I wish to illuminate the area underneath the dash where the cupholders are on a 2010 fabia, with an LED light so I can see it. Would splicing the wires into the 12v switched red/brown wire do the trick or could you suggest something better? I would like this to work only when the headlamps are on at night. thanks for your help, I am a newbie to skoda, as I have worked for f**d for the last 25 years, and their wiring differs. This is a whole new experience for me, as a skoda convert.
  9. Yep that is a plan but not having wiring diagram, which colour wire is it from light switch? I'm used to F*rd looms not Volks/Skoda. .The other option already mentioned using 'ciggy socket' is the easiest method but that means I could leave light on while car not in use. OK not a huge current drain but also means wires and plugs that look unsightly.
  10. Thanks for help so far but all I need to know is which is the easiest wire to splice into so that I can have said LED come on with headlights.. Ta
  11. Hi all, I have only just joined your gang after owning my Fabia for nearly a year. i cannot fault my car but the only thing I would like to do is fit a small LED to light up the cup holder area in front of the gearstick. Where is the the most convenient place to get a supply from the lighting circuit without affecting anything or pulling half the dash apart. I'm used to F*rd cars so bit unsure of Skoda electrics at the moment. Any ideas ? ( probably easy I know ) Thanks.
