  1. Could be - when I pull back the cover in the passenger footwell then water (or a water like liquid) is dripping down from the unit. I'll have a look to see if there are any visible blockages and see if the pollen filter helps, but will also check out the heater matrix if none of those look like they are a problem. Thanks all for the responses.
  2. Hi Apologies if this has been mentioned before. My 99 T reg 1.6GLXI Octavia Mark I has started playing up with the windscreen demisting. It doesn't fully demist, has water dripping from the box under the passenger side footwell and the cables need to be wiggled to get the blower to function. This evening I turned on the blower and could hear water 'gurgling' from the footwell area. The car isn't worth loads so would be grateful for any ideas as to what this may be to give me an idea of cost before I get a mechanic to have a look. I've ordered a new pollen filter on the offchance that this may help. Any ideas/comments would be gratefully received. Thanks!
  3. Hi devonutopia Thanks for the response - Any idea of the cost if you can source one for me; mine is a '99 1.6 glxi hatchback and would be to Brighton. Cheers
  4. Hi My rear offside electric window regulator has failed and am trying to source a replacement without much luck. My original part number is 1U4 839 402 C and have found this one on eBay that seems to be compatible with my model (1.6i 1999 reg) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131175846104?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Could anybody confirm if this one would be compatible or if not where I could source a replacement for my part please? Cheers.
  5. Hi Unfortunately it's not an indicator stalk being left in an 'on' position. It happened when I got home this evening so checked and the indicator stalk was in the middle 'off' position. Any other suggestions?? I'll be phoning the garage I bought it from on Monday but as they aren't Skoda specialists it's doubtful that they will know off the top of their heads. Cheers!
  6. D'oh! As easy as that - thanks very much for putting my mind at rest. There's me thinking that it was something serious and possibly expensive to fix!
  7. Hi I've just purchased a 1999 Skoda Octavia 1.6 GLXI - excellent condition both inside and out and Full History etc so I'm well chuffed. One niggley thing though - when I turn off the ignition and take out the key there is an audible warning tone; a constant tone rather than a beep, beep type sound which continues for about thirty seconds or so and then stops. It doesn't sound when I am starting the car, just when it stops. I've checked to make sure that I haven't left the lights on, that all the doors are shut, boot is shut etc so cannot think what this noise relates to. I've had a look at the user manual but cannot find anything in there about it so could anybody shed some light at all? I'd be very grateful to have this cleared up - it'd certainly put my mind at rest. Cheers!
