  1. Flexbile Mouse: Did you just replace your current tyres from 205/40/R17 with a Rainsport 3 as 215/40/R17 without any mods? I had Vredsteins 205/40/R17 and need a set of four but not keen to make any changes to rims.
  2. Guys, anyone know of a good tyre fitting garage near Hemel/Watford. I've managed to find a set of Vredesteins 205/40 R17 85Y for my VRS, but seems like they only deliver. Previously I used Blackcircles to source my tyres and they had garages in my vicinity. thanks D
  3. thanks guys for the links to maxpowder and bjv engineering. bjv sound expensive, so I'll give maxpowder a try first. just noticed I have the scratch on both rear tyres....double damn ! D
  4. Can you share that link. If be interested Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I do ~ 100 a day, five days a week. Comfortable ride. At 90kph. I get ~50 mpg using shell nitro. Seats are excellent for support. I don't feel sensation issues on the legs after driving. Lights are easy and do not distract. Nice simple dashboard. DSG IS excellent as is the cruise control on a Vrs. Road noise is high. My next tyre chafe will be to the vredsteins cento. 67db compared to 74 for the continentals. That should help with noise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Nice one. Thanks mate. Looks reasonable too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Taking a bend, I misjudged the angle and scratched the rim of my lovely 11 plate alloys. Damn. There now a a streak of "silvery" scrathed streak along the rim of my alloys. What can I do to make it look black again: 1. Get a new alloy for ~ £100 2. Or what. Sand and Paint ? How is that possible. How do I do that. 3.As #2 but take it to a garage ? Where near Hemel/Watford ? 4. Any other options ? D
  8. Hi...did you manage to translate. I wish we could have a good set of steps that we all agree on and make that a sticky.... I've just seen the oil light having driven ~3000 miles from purchase a few months ago (11 plate). So this will be my first oil fill up.
  9. funny, I got the same reading original OP post. I too have recently moved to V-nitro from Esso ( no tesco where on my path) Initially, I thought it was because I had vented, so there was too much slushing around, then it felt that the tanker may have mistakenly swapped fuels. I was actually going to complain to shell that fuel from one station gave me a bigee oopmh compared to same fuel from another location, meaning some fuel play by franchisee. However I am not sure if it is the fuel itself. I am going to try it twice more...one from the reputable garage, the other from the dodgy one and see if I get the difference. Willa slo bear in mind oil temp, drive conditions, and temp to see if that made a difference either. If I feel uncomfortable, I'll move back to Esso. D
  10. Hi is this still available. i might be interested cheers D
  11. Miller73: Hi. I wanted to change it initally too, but have now become quite fond of having a dual display. In a sense it gives me a lot more "finetuning" of the speed when cruising, I can differentiate between 90 and 95 kmh as opposed to working out on which side of the white line is my speed indicator...., especially when trying out differnt speeds to mpg or drive fatigue.
  12. works on mine... so not sure what the issue is, if there is one.
  13. thanks mate...went ot a local installer who highly praised the DEH-80-PRS. Even got a price match, brining the cost down by another £30-50. Hope it should sort out all my SQ issues, but looking at stuff on youtube, I feel daunted by the level of options available, and hope I can get the right settings instead of constantly fumbling around.
  14. I got meself the DEH-80PRS at the weeekend. The installer mentioned it was a good make...in fact so good he had it in his own car.....he did say they are abfab for that price, with the next jump being a few hundred pounds more. Cant wait to have it installed next weekend !
  15. the pioneers are on sale at Halfords, so you might find a bargain there.
  16. ryan-re this sound slike a really good recommendation. Good audiphile sound, pre-out rcas, equaliser and a ability to switch off internal amp, ability to run iphone AND hard-drive. Wondering if I can retain my track/volume buttons on the steering wheel as well as the cubby-hole/blanking plate as a replacement for my swing on 11 pate fabia vrs ?
  17. Radders567, Hi. I am thinking of getting this or rather the 520 off fleabay as a upgrade to my swing unit. I do use the medialink with a usb-hardrive connected. Can you provide more details of your setup especually the usb-ipod link thanks D fabia 11 plate. vrs.
  18. Hello mate, I have the same problem...did you manage to resolve your noise issue ? D
  19. Hi. interested to see how you get on.....i might be looking at similar as a swap for my Swing unit.
  20. Is it a new car ? The reason I ask is why do you want to swap....Bluetooth, MDI/MP3, DAB, better output for amp/sub, Satnav, Reversing camera, etc. What's wrong/inadequate in your current HU ?
  21. funny how his demise is no longer mentioned....felt like Media was being PC to report his death, but quickly moved on. No one spoke out, not even Blondie (Boris). Just goes to show how polite and curteous his opponents were, compared to his comments at Maggie. I dont mind people fighting for their rights. I do mind if I as an innocent bystander am in the disruption. In Japan, when the tube guys call a strike, they all turn up to work, run the most number of trains....but keep the turnstiles open. So, in effect it's a free travel day. That hurts the firm more than Mr. Crows method of hurting the public first.
  22. why buy from dealer....got one from ebay under a tenner. Also until iphone5 lead comes out, you can use a 5-4 convertor and use the existing iphone4 lead.
  23. I just ebay'd and seems like there's millions of hum reducer gadgets to choose....lots more research at my end, so that'll keep me busy for a while. thanks for the tip http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/car-noise-filter
