Worked last year in a hideously semi converted Toyota import. Like an Avensis or something on steroids. No fun to drive, dash unreadable at night. The lights actually made the place darker. It drank diesel and oil and the only fun I had was outbreaking VW Golfs into roundabouts. While hoofing it flat out out of Anglesey I don't think I ever felt closer to a sudden and untimely end. Plus points. Waitrose. And the English and Welsh were incredibly decent about giving you a break on motorway access. Much more so than in Ireland where motorway manners would be largely non existent. That's north and south. Theres always plan B.

Thanks all. It was only going to be for about four nights in a field in Oxford in August. (Where and when we have to be really unlucky with the weather) The idea was to chuck an airbed and duvet in the back. Hi New member. Living in a fairly rural area in NI. Roads are in fairly bad state. So we do country coastal roads. And the odd thrash off a boat up Welsh, English or Frog roads. Thinking about a Yeti. Dame is certainly not thinking about a Yeti. Comfort and a good audio system a must. (One of the reasons I'm loathe to lose the Merc) We spend four nights a year in a field in Oxford. Too old for a tent. Could we kip in a Yeti on an airbed. Thanks. Hi I'm old, been grey for years. ( Have loads of t shirts) Driven almost everything with an auto box except VWs and Beemers. i don't like VWs and Beemers. I just don't like the sort of people who drive them. Not so much the cars. Aged P. suggested a Skoda Yeti as a next long term motor. Small dame, small dog. 4 nights camping a year. Good audio a must.
