  1. The only problem I've had so far (other than the scratch which the dealer sorted out almost immediately) is the lower glovebox light which stayed on all the time the car was running and the heat fused together the packet of hard gums I had in the upper box! Seems like it's a common fault - for the time being I've just removed the bulb. At 600 miles of mixed driving so far, mpg is mid-40s (have yet to calculate the actual brim to brim figure but got over 500 miles from the first full tank) - I'm hoping it will improve a bit.
  2. Our faithful Felicia popular - bought as a pre-reg in early 2001, written off last year...
  3. Picked up this morning - no chance to take any photos yet. On the whole, I'm absolutely delighted. Since the offer effectively meant buying from stock, I did wonder whether it might have been sitting around for a while and so e.g. not have the new steering wheel introduced in week 45 last year - but no, it was built in week 3 this year apparently so came straight from the factory. My only gripe is that in fixing the rear number plate, someone at the dealers must have slipped with the screwdriver and has left a deep and very noticeable curved scratch in the tailgate which thankfully I spotted before driving away. They will repair it but might need a partial respray because it's down to bare metal. I realise of course that this sort of thing (and much worse!) happens all the time with new cars but I would rather that they'd noticed it and sorted it beforehand without me knowing... No question of rejecting it though - stepping up from a Felicia I feel like I've won the lottery and bought a supercar!
  4. And it's arrived at the dealers - pick up on Tuesday!
  5. Hello from a long term lurker... Finally signed up as I'm about to take delivery of a new Roomster to replace an X reg Felicia popular bought new (well almost - it was a pre-reg with 7 miles on the clock) which after many years of faithful service and 150k miles was written off by an idiot pulling straight into the side of it at a T junction... I'm picking the Roomster next week - power steering, air con and the TSi engine are going to be a bit of a step forward! Mike
  6. Drat - Blue was my preferred colour! To be honest, the dealer didn't really seem to know much at all - I had to point out the promotion on the Skoda website before they would check. If I was at all cynical, I might think that this had something to do with the two pre-registration 13 plate Roomster S models on their forecourt they were trying to sell for £8,600...
  7. Make that four! I ordered one just over a week ago, although there seems to be some confusion at the various dealers I spoke to. One told me that all the cars had been sold, another said they could get me one in Shark Blue but then called back to say none left and finally my nearest dealer came up with the goods but said it was only available in Silver, as per the Skoda UK website (and £5 cheaper at £9,900!). Have you got a delivery date? I wasn't clear about whether the cars were from stock already built and in the UK but they assure me it will be available by mid-Feb. The 1.2 tsi engine is remarkable - so quiet at idle I thought I'd stalled it at the start of the test drive but pulled like a train on the motorway. I can't wait...
