  1. We use the Astra 1.7 as police cars and all of them have been recalled for braking issues. Not that you need them on police cars eh? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Well.... ive done it, ive made a purchase. Ive shocked myself and i have ordered a Limited Edition Rapid! I has a 1.2 TSI 105 Engine and it was advertised at £15630 but I managed to get it for £14,545. Only comes in white but it looks the business and when it costs £14k - a car like this isnt to be sniffed at!
  3. wow, what a lot of information on this page to take in. I am slightly steering away from the Rapid as i tend to agree with themanwithnoaim i just think its too small i have to received a brochure for the new Octavia and the Superb and now i really am in a pickle as by mistake i ordered a Superb brochure and i love the look of it especially as an estate car. I paid just over £16k for my Skoda back in 2006 and now I'm looking at cars double that! The green line (I'm assuming this is the 'eco' version) looks pretty good on paper but my OH has a Golf Bluemotion and she doesn't get anywhere near the MPG advertised so I'm dubious of 'eco' brands. I like the look of the Octavia Estate SE 150 CR DSG, I came from a Tip tronic Passat before the Octavia and i loved auto but when buying the octvia last time the auto wasn't an option on the Ambiente as it was a limited edition with sport pack (looks a bit like a vRS but it is based on an Ambiente). However for the same money i could get into a Superb S 1.6 TDI 105...... looks like friday is going to be full of hard decisions. And finally if i had my way, id just stop being sensible and get the vRS ! but my fuel bill would be out of this world.
  4. I know, i have always looked after my cars and this old bus is an absolute gem to drive, it still drives like a dream now and i have every receipt from new. The other reason i need to get a new one as the box file that all the paperwork is in for the car is getting full.
  5. I am fairly new to this forum and i have had a 2006 Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI 140 from new, i am now looking to replace it as it has just clocked 289,000. I am heading down to my local dealer on Friday to test drive the new Spaceback 1.4 DSG and a 1.6 TDI 105 but I'm dubious as they look too small. I thinking of a 1.6 TDI Octavia Mk3 possibly in a similar spec to what I've got already. Any ideas what sort of price i can expect to be paying for a 1.6 TDI Mk3 Octavia, i mean i know the book price but are dealers discounting at the moment. Plus has anyone gone from a 2.0 TDI 140 to a 1.6TDI, how have you found it? Im dubious as i love the performance of the 2.0 tdi. I can see myself ending up with a 2.0 TDI vRS :-) Aaron.
  6. Ive just read this entire thread but the poor poster still doesn't know how to remove the steering wheel!
  7. Crikey! I thought the 140 was nippy - bet your enjoying the remap. My octiblob (family name) is completely standard and I even have the brochure that I chose it from with my scribbling in it!
  8. Hi, yes it's the TDI 140. 130k! Wow it's just a baby. Keep servicing it using 507.0 oil and make sure you leave the turbo to spool for 1 minute after a hard drive to prolong the life of the turbo. You got the diesel too?
  9. Hi Mick, I had a 2.5 V6 Passat TDI tip which I bought new in 2001. I kept it for 5 years and would have driven it to destruction would the tip tronic auto box destroyed itself at 70 on the A1. I chopped the Passat in for an Octavia. I loved the 2.5 Lump it was so smooth (if not a little noisy!)
  10. Hello, new poster from staffs here - possibly with the highest mileage 56 plate octavia??? I have a 2006 Octavia Ambiente 2.0, 285k and took delivery of it in Nov 2006 and had it ever since, lovely car and will more than likely get a new octavia when this eventually dies!
