  1. Hi there. Is there a way to disable start/stop system using VCDS for example? Its pretty annoying when I just stop for a second, and then it turns off and on etc... Of course I know that I can press the button and it disables it, but thats only untill I restart the car. I think that the default should be that the system is off, and when you want to save a little bit more on gas, you can turn it on (for example when waiting in long stop-lights). Is there a way to fully disable it, or even better just make it off by default using VCDS (or some other way?). thanks.
  2. Thank you all for the replies. For some reason I thought that turbo-boost could also be display (I thought I heard it mentioned on youtube somewhere, but guess I mistaken a different car maybe...) In general, I also have al these displays, like you all mentioned.
  3. Hello. I recently got my company car upgraded from a 2011 Elegance 1.2 TSI to a 2014 Ambient (or S) 1.2 TSI model. I wanted another Elegance, but wasn't an option because of high price, which the company didn't want to pay for, I have the Bolero infotainment HU. It doesn't display much information about the car (only average fuel, KM, etc...). I wanted to know if some higher spec Octavias display more car info like turbo boost, RPM etc... ? If so, do you think I can enable it using VCDS ? (have a friend with official VCDS). thanks.
  4. Hello. I had a 2011 Octavia MK2 company car, with the deadlock "feature". I recently upgraded to a 2014 MK3 and was suprised that no "check lock" message appeared. When I checked the doors, I noticed that they DO NOT deadlock when locking with the remote keyfob ! Seems like its a feature that can be removed/disabled somehow, not sure if only at factory or be using VCDS. I think maybe the Skoda importer here in the Middle-east has disabled this feature (or at least asked Skoda to do it at factory) because there were many complaints on this "feature". Many local Octavia MK2 owners didn't really know about this feature / didn't bother reading the manual, and got to know this feature only when they locked someone in the car, and these incidents made alot of fuss. My wife and I are aware of this feature, and even if it didn't exist, we don't leave children/people in the car and lock them! If I need to leave the car (like for refueling) and my wife/kids stay in the car, I leave my wife the key, or i take the key but ask my wife to lock from the inside. In any case I do not leave children in an unattended car. This is a good rule, no matter if you have a deadlocking car or not. Of course "accidents" may happen, and even I may deadlock someone in the car. Nothing is "fool" proof. I just think that with appropriate attention, this feature is a bit less scary. I'm actually looking for a way yo enable the deadlock feature on my MK3! Although its a company car, and I don't really mind if someone steals it, I think the deadlock feature is good against theifs steeling goods from your car. It means that even if they break a window, they will have a hard time getting into and out of the car, so it won't be simple to get in and steel things that are out of hand. I'm not saying its impossible, but it will make it harder, and take them a bit more time - something theifs don't like. This is especially good for preventing theft from the trunk of the car. If there isn't deadlocking, the theif could get into the car by breaking the window, and pressing the unlock button, thus opening the trunk.
  5. Hi there. Is it possible to connect the new Octavia MK3 Bolero to view an external video source, such as an aftermarket rear-view camera (using RCA like connectors)? Does it have these connections? Any adapters exist for doing this? If its not possible, is there an OEM/Skoda original rear-view cam that does integrate with the Bolero ? Thanks in advance.
  6. It looks nice but a bit too pricey for me. I was hoping on buying a cheap rear-view camera and somehow connect it to the Bolero screen.

  8. Hi there. I currently have a 2011 Octavia Elegance (MK2) company car, and I'm about to receive a new 2014 Ambition (MK3) (both 1.2 TSI). Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the Elegance, because of it high price, my company currently doesn't want to pay. Here in the Middle-East the Ambition doesn't come with front fog lamps. I was wondering if its possible to retrofit front fog lamps ? I saw that I can buy them here: http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/exterier/oem-5e09416995e0941700-drl-fog-lights-for/ My question is what else would I need in order to retro fit them? Any ideas on the wiring loom I'd need and where I can get it? I don't want to go to the local dealer because they are known to be pricey, if at all would agree to do the retrofit. Any help would be appreciated.
