  1. I have had issues with this for a while now - I even started a thread in another forum to see if anyone else has had the same issues and it appears many 315 users have the same problem. It seems the firmware of the unit is irrelevant. I managed to get an upgrade for mine which flashed successfully however the unit was rebooting as soon as V10 maps were running. (whether from card or installed to thew system) Strangely enough this problem only seems top be affecting UK users and appears to be an issue with the V10 UK map. I have not contacted VW personally but others have reported that VW has acknowledged an issue with V10 and is working on a fix however not sure if there is any truth in this or not. I can also confirm returning to V9 works without issue so for me its a case or waiting to see if any update is released or even waiting it out to see if V11 resolves the problem whenever that may be released.
  2. Spot on Wino - this fuse was blown! As it happens I would have had to put this into the garage anyway as the bracket that holds the N345 valve in place had broken somehow and it had fallen down. It would seem over time the wiring had rubbed through the insulation and the core was exposed which had shorted out on something. The guys replaced the valve and wiring as well as clearing the faults for £90+VAT so not too bad. Car back to normal - thanks a lot for your help with this one. I'll remember this for future. All the best.
  3. Thanks - hopefully it is something as simple as this. I really needed to get it resolved as soon as possible as I'm using my wife's car so it's been dropped off at an auto electricians this morning. I'll post what they come back with. Cheers.
  4. Hi, Hopefully someone can help me with a problem (or problems) with my Octavia PD VRS. All was well this morning when suddenly the glow plug light began flashing and the car went into limp mode. I got to work and remembered I had my VCDS lead in the boot. Quick install of the software onto a work laptop and I was able to complete a full scan which has thrown up 3 faults on the engine - all relating to 'short to ground'. I have attached the complete VCDS scan. (the ABS fault is already repaired - I've had just not cleared it at this point) Anyone have any ideas? Could this be a fuse or relay due to the multiple short to ground faults? Any help appreciated. Thanks. Log-SL56DDX-TMBEH21Z078012426-176030km-109379mi.txt
  5. Yep. Received when it was all done and working! I've decided to leave the original kenwood mic where it is. I have it at the top of the 'a' pillar and its pretty discreet however it was a bit of a pain getting it behind the steering wheel trim. I used a wire to feed through and eventually got it in place and its looking really tidy. Just frustrated now I've to remove the head unit again for the reverse cam when I order it. Speaking of which, does anyone know a good one? A few on ebay for sale but would like to do this once and correctly. Thanks! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  6. This is now all fitted and working great. Thanks for the earlier responses as it made it a lot easier to gain access. I have ordered the new trim as well as the original one looks shocking!! Lol. Cheers. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  7. I've decided to run the microphone first before fitting the head unit but was wondering if the oem mic would work on this unit? The mic supplied with the kenwood needs to be 'on display' like at the top of the a pillar but as there's a vent at the sunglasses holder in the roof I think this would be much tidier. Anyone tried this before? Thanks. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks for your responses. I'll have a look for the trim and see if I can get it ordered. That makes sense to remove the air vent box on the top and should let me see what I'm doing. Going in blind is a nightmare! I'm tempted to go back out and try it now but probably best waiting until tomorrow. I'll update on how it goes! Cheers.
  9. I managed to pick up a Kenwood DNX520VBT from Ebay and decided to have a go at fitting it tonight. All went well removing the trim and the Stream unit so I decided to try connecting the unit before screwing it all in and again, no problem. Everything worked fine and I set up my phone etc. Next I tried to fit the unit in but I cannot get the thing to sit flush.!? It seems to be hitting the large square power/ speaker connector and I tried for about 20 minutes before giving up. I removed the stereo and had a good look to see where the best place to hide the connect would be but not seeing anything obvious. Has anyone had issues with this before? There is also a rectangular box connected inline (no idea what it is for) but this is not helping the issue. If anyone could assist on where the best place to hide all this away top allow the stereo to slide back it wold be much appreciated. Also, I've now realised my trim doesn't fit with this unit as it leaves a gap. I assume I need a Columbus trim. My car has the older style auto climate with the 3 holes in silver - does anyone know what the part number would be to order one up? I called up my local dealer who pretty much laughed as he said there are over 20 versions so couldn't help!? Any advice be be awesome! Thanks in advance!
