  1. Looks the business, is the facia the same as the stream or columbus?
  2. What's the advantage of the parrot chip ? Does it not have a Bluetooth phone feature anyway?
  3. the black ones are cheap enough from the dealer , but as nickgpfc said make sure you get the one that suits your trim , and i think these are the badges i got : http://www.aliexpress.com/item/VW-Original-SKODA-Bonnet-Hood-Front-Boot-Rear-Trunk-Emblem-Badge-LOGO-For-FABIA-OCTAVIA-RAPID/32411598681.html (front and back ) http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Skoda-fabia-Skoda-Octavia-Car-Accessories-A5-CAR-logo-Emblem-BLACK-MARK-steering-wheel-before-and/32342002411.html (wheel centers and steering wheel ) the front and rear badges in the second kit aren't great as they only stickers but the other ones are a good fit
  4. Its called "volkswagen satin silver" from halfords , i put 4 or 5 coats with no lacquer and its a perfect match with the trim. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/370602-diy-silver-stereo-fascia-and-canbus-install/?hl=%2Bsatin+%2Bsilver
  5. Looks good do far, can u connect an Obd module and use torque app do u know
  6. an place they does vinyl wrap, I think it was just a gloss black, if I can find the exact code I'll post it here
  7. not too hard , just requires patience , lots of patience . I was lucky that the black wrap was nearly an exact match for the paint job.
  8. hard to get any definitive info on this , looks good from what little i can find
  9. I know this sounds stupid but... are you sure its not turned off by the sliding switch at the top being pushed to the right . If its in this position no amount of toggling of the end of the stalk will make it work .
  10. Or you could just get 3 quids worth of vinyl wrap
  11. Cool, would it have been straightforward enough with parrot? Lookin forward to pics and can u link me to the exact one you bought Thanks
  12. Thanks folks, bit of reading for me there so, I did hear the pioneer are good but I would prefer the ones that look original, would defo be Interested to hear how the one from pumpkin turns out awesam, columbus is a great unit, but not enough things to play with
  13. Can anyone recommend a good android head unit or even one that uses mirrorlink effectively . I know there is a few threads on here about them but some of them are a bit old. I know the technology in these things can change fairly fast so was was trying to get the most up to date advice . I have already changed my stream mp3 for a columbus and now i'm fairly bored of it so selling it this week , even though it is a good quality unit i would prefer to somehow be able to use spotify , youtube and other apps . am i right in thinking that with mirrorlink all the processing is done through the phone ,the headunit is just an interface? Have seen a few systems on iceboxauto and they look sweet ,but am wondering what theyre like to live with . If the technology isn't up to scratch yet , i suppose ill just have to stick with my stream and aux cable.
  14. dont think mine ever lit up either . 2007 vrs
  15. what else is required to make this work on a columbus rns510 ? does it just need a microphone or is there more to it?
  16. use vinyl wrap , its a lot easier than trying to paint chrome .. and its reversible
  17. Hi after getting a Columbus head unit to replace the stream mp3 i went to skoda to get a new fascia .The standard black one was 15 euro but the silver vrs one was over 60 notes!!!!. Taking a tip from another briskodian (cant remember who ,sorry.) i got myself a halfords can of vw satin silver paint (9€) and bought the black fascia. /have to say im delighted with results. standard black , a bit bland after about 4 or 5 coats So now stereo in ,fascia painted , canbus gateway changed , thanks to eddie_nl for a great job and quick turnaround. Mfd works a treat with that head unit . Gateway easy to change if you go in through panel here: dont know how any one does it from under the dash. . stereo in ,some badge changes and wrapped black grille happy now..... for a while
  18. Why disregard the pd170 because of dpf . Buy one get dpf removed (or gutted) , sorted . Now you have a top car
  19. Aliexpress ones are grand , better than i expected actually . ill post pics later . I got these for wheels and steering wheel , there is front and rear in the set but they are only stickers so didnt use them http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Skoda-fabia-Skoda-Octavia-Car-Accessories-A5-CAR-logo-Emblem-BLACK-MARK-steering-wheel-before-and/32342002411.html These for front and back http://www.aliexpress.com/item/VW-Original-SKODA-Bonnet-Hood-Front-Boot-Rear-Trunk-Emblem-Badge-LOGO-For-FABIA-OCTAVIA-RAPID/32411598681.html Front one is a bit flat , and isnt perfect for shaped grill , but i doubt any one but me would notice . Can be persuaded with a heat gun if you wanted perfect . I actually like the green too. but the ones on the car were just tatty and rotten looking . I would have stayed with the green ones but my car is black and looks better with the new style badges
  20. I like it, it's different but would leave as is now
  21. Thats Lancia dub , I have to admit that the vrs is only my second fav car.......although close second to my Delta
  22. I thought of wrapping it too but couldnt find a wrap that looked anything like the silver trim in the vrs .
  23. I got columbus surround in black for 15 euro from skoda . They wanted 60 euro for the silver equivalent , but after doing a bit of searching i found out that "Vw satin silver" paint is an exact match to the silver vrs trim . so ill be giving that a shot , ill post the results. Also , Before any one comments on how naff it may look when painted , i dont see how. The original fascia is not silver plastic its just spray painted silver.
