Hi I upgraded my boot lamp unit to a led one and it's fantastic. What I want to know is it possible to separate the old unit and just replace the bulb with a led one.... I couldn't find a obvious way to open it without risk damaging it

Looks good! - I ordered one and got it today and will fit it later .. I queried the size and they told it was 42mm for my car so maybe they sent you 42mm despite ordering 41mm as the original poster has the silver ring showing?

Skoda UK replaced a piece of trim in mine at over 3 years old even though the dealer point blank refused to entertain a claim, the part was only £20 but it was the principle so I set out to make them look silly which I did. They were very good and followed it through but they were based in Sheffield - I think the centre did all VAG group cars...

It means that they have put it back on to fixed servicing not variable servicing, obviously dealers prefer fixed as it makes servicing more frequent, this happened at my local dealer on the 1st service and at the next service I made sure by checking 2 or 3 times that it will continue on variable as otherwise a revisit is necessary, I think this a trick by dealers as I have heard of it happening quite a few times on this and other forums.... complain and see what they say - they will proably say return and we will plug our computer and sort it out. After servicing reset on a variable program I last time did 500-600 miles before the mileage showed up for the car to calculate a true driving style etc...

I trust I am right in thinking its 42mm for the steering wheel centre?.. Please let me know Squattingbeaver what he says -- its quite a bit cheaper than the US option Cheers
