  1. just occurred to me that there 4 ish other wires going to the other fusees in that box , i thinker red one , would any of them do as a good replacement ? cheers d

  6. hi , i only by past for a a few second wile checking it , still not a great idea but no intention to drive it and on hand to turn it strait off ,. i got a new second hand wire today from the scrappy and its all up and working with fuse there is still some heat . i also check 2 other vw's with the same set up and they both had some heat . im going to uprate the hole set up as don't want it happening again but should i expect to eliminate the heat all together ? as for the battery its band new so i hope iv not baked it , it seems ok so far but we will see . Thanks loads to everyone on this thread , its amazing what you can learn on here in half hour after spending all day not getting anywhere and swearing
  7. hi , i think the answer to my problems in here but im not quit getting it . my battery light came on and then had a flat battery jump started it a couple of times and then drove it about 2 miles to a mates place . found the melted fuse and by passed it buy sticking the black wire strait to the battery terminal (this seemed a quick esy way to test it but now im not so sure) , it worked fine and but then got i bit of smoke and the black wire got very hot . then went and got the proper fuse and put it all back thinking it will still work and if it gets hot it will blow the new fuse with no harm done . but now it wont turn over , trys a tiny bit like a flat battery buy no where near starting even with jump leads or starter pack . any ideas would be very welcome , have i buggered something else up ? cheers d

  10. i dont know if i pressed it to the floor , i changed them then had to pump them a couple of times to get a peddle buts its just not a very nice peddle , still not had chance to bleed them , still no worse or no better , il have to wait and see i suppose . cheers d
  11. im going to bleed it all and hope that helps so will hopefully sort that at the same time , just seems odd its not getting worse
  12. hello chaps , iv dont the discs and pads as the discs where very warped , iv now got great brakes but a rubbish peddle , its sinks if you hold it on like the master cylinder has gone but its go no worse , could i have got air in there but doing the pads ? i cant see how , also if i have to slam them on they judder . i guess its to do with the abs but i dont think iv ever felt it before on any other car . any ideas ? cheers d
  13. nice one , i found the plug and gave it a waggle then unplugged it and plugged it back in and it kicked in . im delighted , thanks massivly for the help the forums great and RW you are a star , many many thanks D

  16. right then folks iv had a did around and now need some info the inner spins free and the clutch aint working but i guess at one point it did as it was wining so had to be doing something . iv tested the 2 pin plug to it and cant get any power so i was thinking maybe its pop a fuse ? iv check them all in the box at the side of the dash and cant find any gone , when i hit AC the rad fans come on (i think that supposed to happen) anyone knew if i can power up the clutch with a hard wire just to test it ? if so witch wire is the + ? , i don't want to randomly stick power in to it. . any ideas ? thanks loads , d

  18. let me know , iv been playing with mine today and some times i press the button and there no noise but i cant say it feels very cold , other times its noisy like the belts squealing but not sure what the noise is . is this the pump or is this the PAS ? cheers chaps d

  22. nice one , so if the nut wont move the pump is stuck ,ye ? so is it worth forcing it ? is there a chance it will free it up ? thanks chaps , very helpful
  23. cheers , if i turn the nut and the pulley turns is that just the pulley with the clutch disengaged or is that turning the pump ? anyone know what size nut it is ? cheers d
  24. hi , iv got a problem with mine , not sure its the same but here we go , i had it charged today and then tried it and the belt started screeching so i guess the pump is seized ? any idea if it can be freed , any idea how much a new one it ? im not having a lot of luck with this car many thanks d
