  1. I certainly will. None of the other Fabias at the Dealer shared the problem, but there is such an incredibly fine gap between the ridges on the flap and the surrounding OSR wing (as the flap is opened), that it's probably a problem waiting to happen for other owners as their cars age. A drawback of Škoda's attempt to make the design of their cars' flanks more interesting!
  2. The pronounced ridge that runs along the side of the car (and also through the fuel flap) is catching the fuel flap everytime I open it to refuel. This has developed over time and took me a while to diagnose, as I stand behind the fuel flap when I refuel so that side of the fuel flap isn't in my line of sight, and though it hasn't taken paint off yet, I know it won't be long. Careful examination when the flap is closed shows the ridge on the flap is slightly out of line with the ridge on the car. Dealer has attempted to adjust, but said there isn't much adjustment in it, and sure enough the problem returned a week later. Has anybody else suffered this, and how did you fix it? Obviously, my plan is to return to the dealer and insist they either have a better attempt at adjusting, or perhaps replace the fuel flap.
  3. My local VCDS guy hasn't read my message so clearly isn't a frequent visitor to the forum. Can anybody else in Yorkshire or Lincolnshire assist?
  4. Polite request... Tried asking this a couple of times now, but haven't managed to get a definitive answer; also messaged local VCDS guy from the VCDS a few weeks back, but no reply as yet. Dealer says it's possible, and that the coding exists, but that Skoda UK won't provide them with it, so..... Can I, or can I not, have a pair of (H7/LED DRL) SEL headlights "coded" to my SE, using VCDS, and is anybody willing to assist me in doing this? I'm told that the plugs at the rear are the same. Thanks
  5. Have messaged my local VCDS user (from the map on the VCDS section); I'll be politely asking him to assist with the Hill Hold Control, and setting the resistance on the DRLs and front indicators to "LED" to prevent bulb failure warnings. Has anybody else had these mods done, specifically the bulb ones?
  6. Can anyone signpost me to a decent quality LED (CREE-style) bulb to use as a direct replacement for the 21W filament DRL bulbs? Website URL or ebay item number would be useful. Thanks
  7. When you say "venting", do you just mean ignoring the pump click-offs, and continuing to fill, or is there more to it than that?
  8. Thanks for the reply - I had considered that, but not driven over any gravel or other detritus, so would have to have been a very unlucky acquisition! Cheers
  9. Started out as an occasional metallic rattle - too infrequent to pinpoint it's location; suddenly worsened to a near-constant high-pitched scrape/grinding noise on my commute home late last night, though it varied as I turned the steering wheel on the run in to our estate. Very different to the sound of bearings, and am as sure as I can be that this is the shielding plate behind the disc on the nearside front wheel - not very impressive for a car that's nearing 2500miles after 2 months on the fairly smooth roads around us. Phoned the dealer this morning to be told they're fully booked this week, and could I 'phone the Roadside Recovery?! Convinced them it would be a quick fix (I sincerely hope I'm right!!), and they squeezed me in for tomorrow morning. Got a lift to work today. Does anybody know... (assuming my diagnosis) is correct) are the backplates painted? If so, I'll be asking for a replacement plate, as the paint removal will lead to premature corrosion.
  10. The 1.0 75ps engine is adequate, and mine has loosened up a lot during running in. Very well insulated and refined - you would never guess it only had 3 cylinders. You just have to change down a gear on long hills. The gearbox feels great, and reverse gear is back in the proper place with the 1.0 engine (between 4th & 5th). SE (mid-range) spec in the UK has Bluetooth as standard so no need to be cutting up the lovely touchscreen stereo (which itself forms part of the car's own computer, allowing you to change many vehicle settings, aswell as including Surround Sound & Virtual Subwoofer) - don't bother changing the stereo - your car may not function without it. SE comes with the maxi-dot computer, which is a large-display multi-function trip computer including driving data from your current journey, your last refuel, and long term. Nobody sensible is going to butcher a brand new Fabia's metal roof to retrofit the glass roof. Order it as an option from the factory.
  11. My Mk1 Fabia vRS had a dual-tone horn - surely these could be retro-fitted if the connectors are the same?
  12. Fabia SE bought from stock, without the optional LED/Projector headlamps (£190 on Factory Orders). Dealer suggests electronic plugs and other hardware for the SEL headlamps are the same, but that they don't have the "coding" to activate them when retro-fitted. Struggling to believe this is not possible. Does anybody have the "coding" or a way of cheating the coding to enable me to order these and fit them?
  13. There won't be many of these in the scrappies for a while yet, so best ask the dealer, or somewhere like this, who may do a decent discount (they specialise in genuine VAG parts)... www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/ edit: for some reason my link doesn't work. Just Google "TPS VAG", and they'll be top of the list. There's also a thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/370343-briskoda-parts-p-p-pick-up-parts-genuine-dealer-parts/ with instructions to follow on there.
  14. Having had them on passenger & driver's side on my Mk2 SE, I was surprised not to get one-touch windows on at least the driver's side; not great for safety either, when a simple tap to open/close keeps your hands on the wheel; particularly irritating when negotiating the toll booths on my commute.
  15. I'd guess they sold fewer (2WD-only) Fabia Scouts than Mk2 vRS models, so if they aren't producing a Mk3 vRS, then you probably won't see a Scout either - just my thoughts...
  16. Thanks guys - yes I can file browse iPhone pics on PC using USB (they are only JPGs), but though I have full functionality with my iTunes, I cannot display any pics. Has anybody managed to view pics from the SD card? (Would anybody with an SD card please try this to avoid me buying one unnecessarily?) If so, what format were the pics in, and can you select one to use as a "screensaver" on the Bolero screen?
  17. I was a little disappointed, but not too aggrieved that my SE is a 2015MY (built approx April 2015), therefore no Apple carplay - I have full functionality playing music from my iPhone, using the USB function anyway. I do still have queries though - I can't find my SD card slot in the glovebox - does it definitely have one?! Also, can I use the USB to view pictures (I do have "Images" on the main menu, but it doesn't seem immediately compatible with the fairly standard JPG files on my iPhone)? If it turns out that I do have an SD card slot, am I more likely to be able to view images using that? Thanks in advance, Nick.
  18. Can anybody here tell me what build week my new SE is? IE whether or not I can use it with my iPhone 5? Happy to send VRM via PM. Thanks Edit - in case you're wondering why I haven't just tested it, I'm picking it up this week, and haven't had chance to test it.
  19. Waiting to pick up my pre-registered 1.0 (75) SE next week. Brand new, but pre-registered (last week), and price lowered to £9995, which I think is a brilliant saving. I would have specced the projector/LED headlamps if it had been a factory order, but the price was too good to miss. Have ticked my usual exciting options... rubber mats, mudflaps, bootliner. Hoping my unused spare from my Mk2 will fit (I know they share the same bolt pattern, but are the offsets the same?). Looking forward to the infotainment system, and tweaking various settings; will maybe add some LEDs to the rear numberplate and interior. This'll be my fourth Škoda, after my 2005 Octavia 1.9TDi, my 2006 Fabia vRS, and lastly my 2014 Fabia 1.2 SE.
  20. I know the bolt pattern is the same for Mk2 & Mk2, but is the offset much different? Looking to take the steel spare from my Mk2 and stick it in the boot of the Mk3 I'm looking at... as long as the offset is compatible. Thanks
  21. Sorry for another hi-jack, but the menu above shows an option to disable the DRLs. Is that option in the settings for the SE too? Once disabled, do you need to enable them again, or do they revert/default to "on" each time you start the engine? It would be useful to disable them now & again in certain circumstances when using the car at work. Am looking at an SE at the moment. Thanks
  22. Thanks - just checked the configurator, and they're shown as an upgrade on the SE only - pretty sure there's nothing preventing a factory-order S being fitted with them though. Thanks
  23. Would somebody please confirm whether the projector halogen headlights can be ordered as an upgrade on the S or SE models (factory order or dealer-fit). I like my projectors and separate high beam on my Mk2 SE, and don't want to go back to H4 bulbs. Thanks in anticipation.
  24. Not planning to try with my 1.2 fabia, but I can report that both of my older 5-cylinder 20v Volvos (n/a 850 and S70 LPT) ran much better, smoother and noticeably perkier on V Power than 95. Definitely not a placebo.
