Hello everyone,
I have a 2006 VW Jetta 1.9TDI PD, Engine code BKC and a few months ago it went into limp mode for the first time, struggled to get over 40mph with foot buried in carpet, a quick scan with generic OBD scanner showed fault code for turbo overboost, I reset the code and car was back to normal again for a few hundred miles. However the issue reoccurred again this week, power loss was not as bad as the first time but certainly noticeable with lack of power uphill and under load, a quick scan confirmed that the fault had returned. So this time I have done a bit of research and seems this is a common issue and is caused by carbon and soot build up in the turbo blocking vanes and stiffening the actuator. I have read on this forum and other across the net that the carbon build up can be cleaned out with Mr Muscle Oven cleaner. I am wondering can this be done on my car and if so how?
All your suggestions and feedback are very much appreciated, thanks for the help!
Regards.
