  3. Seemed like it was all plugged in so unless I've got a faulty one the volume must be turned right down. I can't hear it at all.
  4. I'm going for a rummage to see what the problem could be. Wish me luck as this could all end in tears!
  5. Definitely sound generator not working. Only got it today and the first thing wrong with it.... Hope it's not a trend starting. Will see if it's connected tomorrow
  6. I don't understand why it's not working then. How do I check? Could canton play a factor?
  7. I've just got mine today, in Sport mode and I can't hear a sausage. Don't know what everyone is moaning about!! Either mines not working or I'm deaf.
  8. I had it on the passat cc I owned from new. SS was just an inconvenience, I was working on London at the time and with all the traffic it was annoying with the engine constantly turning off and straight back on again. Occasionally it didn't 'fire up' quite quickly enough or when coming to a stop the engine would cut out just as the traffic would start moving, leaving you with a split second when, without SS, you should really be pulling away but with SS it was shutting down the engine ready to start it back up again.
  9. KiDr that does does look a fair bit shorter time than the stated. Have you timed it?
  10. Mines now arrived. I'm getting delivery from the lease company a week today (hopefully it arrives with no damage and the suspension blocks removed!)
  11. I've just ordered the 0803. Not sure how to hard wire it , so could be interesting. Really wanted a dual cam (front and back), but the ones available that were relatively small were the Blackvue ones, and they were too damned expensive.
  12. Oh yea! It's arrived with the dealer. Now just to wait for the lease company to deliver. Plenty excited now
  13. I have a 1.6tdi at the moment (not through choice) and I can confirm 0-60mph is done in minutes rather than seconds..... :-)
  14. "If we had one complaint about the Octavia it would be, again, that the level of road noise from the rear of the vehicle is ever-present. It’s a dull resonance that is unlikely to be heard over a boot full of luggage or a backseat of screaming kids. But when you’re on your lonesome cruising the highway it could get tiring." Quote from that specific website link
  15. Mine was built the week of the 19th May, so hopefully I have 1 week wait maybe 2 max. Can't wait to see the back of the V50 1.6D I inherited - what a load of crap that car is!!
  16. Cheers for keeping an eye out Ben. It's really appreciated
  17. Hi Ben, it's a hatch. It'll either go to Newcastle or Harrogate
  18. Ben, could you keep an eye out for a VRS black with 19" alloys to Benfield Skoda? Should be due anytime soon Thanks pal.
  19. 50-60% of a near £30K motor is a big difference - (3K by my math) If you've added 3K worth of extras (which is most of them!) you should expect to command 60% whereas if it's the standard version 50% - you've not really lost much AND got the exact car you wanted without worrying about the pennies you (might) save when you come to sell it. I know which I'd prefer. It's me that's driving the thing for the next 3-4 years - I would hate to be thinking, every time I got into the car, "I wish I'd got that....."
  20. Exactly. Easier sale and if you have these extras you are more likely to command a higher price. I wouldn't have a car that didn't have heated leather seats and Xenons now - I'm sure there will be plenty of buyers out there with a 'must have' list when they come to purchase a car in 2 or 3 years. Would you buy a car that didn't have electric windows now? Probably not. Extras will make the care more desirable and more likely to command a higher price. As for me getting mugged off? I very much doubt it. I'm not paying for the car in the first place....
  21. Sweet. More black ones with larger wheels. Mine will be the same only hatch. Looks cracking, enjoy!
  22. But he will be driving it so why not choose what you want on the car? I see the standard spec as a base from which to tailor your car to suit your own specific needs and/or tastes. It's hard to judge resale values and who knows what peoples "must haves" will be in the next 3 years or more. I'd bet that most will be looking for things like Xenons to be a standard on cars manufactured from 2012(ish) onwards. Will soon be the same with DAB radios etc, a must have when the second hand buyer comes to have a look.
