  1. I have exactly the same problem with my wife's Fabia, same engine but hatchback. I have a 140 Yeti that's as smooth (or fast) as you like from start. Could it be that mine's diesel? or 4X4? or a combination of both? Whatever the reason I don't like the DSG in the Fabia as much as the Yeti's. You shouldn't have to "think" every time you pull away. That's the only thing that stops it from being a fantastic car - oh, and not having 1 touch electric windows.
  2. Hi Just changed my Fabia Monti Tech II for a SE-L III. The front windows don't have 1 touch like the Monti. I can't find anything in the handbook. Is it possible to enable?
  3. Hi Just had my Monti Tech in for creaking steering. Same symptoms as everyone else. 63 Reg, 15000 miles. Rack removed & fitted new track rods. All 4 wheels aligned & road tested (their words). Carried out under warranty without quibble.
  4. Hi I collected my car yesterday. It been on "extended test" but hasn't replicated the fault whilst with them. The RAC mechanic didn't record any live fault codes either and it stalled on him at least 6 times. During it's time at the Main Dealers it's covered over 100 miles, so has had a thorough test. The garage have changed the EGR valve even though they couldn't see any obvious fault. Apparantly VAG are aware of issues with EGR valves across their entire range. They are collating evidence to see if there is a pattern to the problem. I was told mine was the first with DSG to fail. I think that the garage, Horton's in Lincoln, provided a 1st class service. Looking at the numerous emails between then and Skoda it doesn't look as though it was an easy decision to get them to agree to the work being carried out. You don't live too far from Lincoln, perhaps it might be worth a call to Horton's to see if they will take up your case. If you do, ask for Mike in Service, he seems very knowledgeable. Best of luck, I hope you get a solution.
  5. Hi My 140 I have the same engine but in auto. Today mine cut out suddenly. Would re-start but cut out when put into D or R. RAC mechanic blankedff the EGR and the car ran a normal. Got us to the Main Dealers. They've since phoned to say "no fault recorded". I'll post update when I know more.
  6. Sometimes these decisions are forced upon you. I don't do many miles but like fairly good performance. I wanted an Outdoor 4X4. Couldn't justify the expense of an L & K. Could I have chosen anything other that a Diesel?
  7. Hi I've been reading the forum for some time to help me decide which model to choose. You've been a great help / totally confused me (in equal measures). I guess that you just have to go with what feels right at the time. Hopefully my new Outdoor, 2.0 TDI CR 140 4X4 DSG will be delivered before the end of the month.
