  1. Got one, think it's ace - and while I'm sure there are more wonderful ones for various reasons for me I like the screen, I like the optional touch screen or control inputs. Only thing I've notced that I've wondered if could be even better is address input seems to take a while though if you use the 'drop down' feature that helps.
  2. That looks great. Does it for right up to the rubber boot seal aswell? I just bought one that looked from the website pictures that it covered the depth of the bumper but when it arrived it's either got to have a gap at the bumper edge or a gap near the boot or because of its depth a gap in both locations. So keen on one that covered it all
  3. On the same topic, if you opt for a full size (ie buy a spare wheel yourself) does it fit into the wheel well ? (if you remove the various fittings for tow bars and so on) or is it too wide and therefore won't fit under the boot floor gubbins? Anyone know?
  4. How can a PDI miss that. That's a shocker. What's an even bigger shocker is the dealer response. Remind me never to go there. Thats just astounding.
  5. Seconding and thirding the Eagle F1's and PS3's. Used them both heavily on Scoobaru's and Audi's and worked well for me. The price point for F1's was a decider for me at the start of the year so bought four for the Audi. If they continue to be cheaper than PS3's I'll be replacing my vRS tyres on all four corners with those when the time comes.
  6. Wow. This is a fab post. Don't know the answer WS however possibly helps many of us who haven't moved to iOS8 yet. I don't think I'll bother. Thanks for posting !!
  7. Nice one. 10 months ... wow. Good effort on patience !!
  8. What a great thread. I've got the 'plus' thing - wee pocket to put phone in. So does anyone know how this works from a tech point of view. So what difference does putting your phone in the pocket make? I'm thinking either the phone is connected by Bluetooth or it isn't - what difference would having the phone actually in the pocket make - anyone know?
  9. I think it's ace. Just got a vrs with it fitted. Time to open and close - 7-8seconds at a guess. Slow and deliberate :-) There's a rubber grab handle for doing it manually. Any manual intervention stops any in progress opening or closing I think. I assume the dash button is for opening closing it but haven't used it yet.
  10. Cool review. Apart from colour, I can confidently say: What he said ^^^ Strange coincidence - ex scoob owner too, same spec, same ordering time, same delivery day. Top car. 300 miles done and it's pretty good. Ok, not a 330bhp AWD Scoobaroo in pure performance terms but it's a fun car and well chuffed with it I have to say.
  11. If not answered before tomorrow night I can get the tape out and confirm the extra length and time to fit. My experience with a previous Audi which looks almost exactly the same the fitting is really easy. Detaching equally easy. Once a few years old if the mounting stuff isn't perfectly clean and greased it can become a bit more work due to corrosion IMO.
  12. Neily03 - Sport Mode means it is switched off (I think). Sport Mode is Skoda's fancy way of saying "go for it, if you wanna drive like folks used to without having us(Skoda) intervene and brake wheels when you don't want us too, then press this button" In other words - no automatic intervention - so that's why I refer to it is 'Off' (which is the same as Sport Mode) Unless I've got the whole thing wrong, but many other cars have been this way for a long time ... though you just usually switched the whole lot On or Off, not partially On or partially Off like you can do here with Traction Control and ESC where you can have one or the other. e.g. if you wanted to go more sideways whenever you want for a laugh on the track in a Nissan 350Z, you switched it off(i.e. drove in Sport Mode), apply light brake on a corner and off you go. The various 'gizmos' would stop you going sideways before you could blink.
  13. My take on this: The manual isn't that clear on long press, short press, however the Neily03 comment clears that up I think. Would have been good in the manual for it to just say Long less = and short press = (though you could potentially imply it as it does say one is a short press). Anyways. So to the other question - practical difference is I think that one (just Traction Control off) will still have the auto braking of individual wheels available to you to (attempt to) keep the car pointing the way you want it (ESC). So with traction control off, you'll now be able to spin wheels much easier on say and big uphill that's wet maybe or such like. With both off it's simply not going to stop you spinning you wheels and it's all not going to try and individually brake wheels to keep you in the direction of travel. My reading is you cannot switch the ESC off without also switching off traction control though. So it's all on, no traction control, or no traction control and no braking of wheels (ESC) DSR will beep at you and display a message on the screen if it thinks you need a break. You can switch it off via Infotainment EDL + XDS are just 'On' I think - something that's even more impressive on a Quattro or equivalent Subaru cos you get the rear wheels working to help you corner aswell, but hey, handy on the Vrs too :-) IMO.
  14. washdog - this isa useful thread in relation to the arrival of cars by the way http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/306150-vrs-delivery-locations/page-12
