  1. **** ? Don`t tell me what that means.Lol. This car is brilliant. My mate who is buying it off me in 2 months is getting a real good car. Don`t want it to go but I need more room for a disabled Grandaughter plus I have a speed awareness course next month to attend. Too many coppers hiding in bushes with radar, so i`m getting a Citroen Berlingo Multispace in August. Coo er missus.
  2. Hey, not posted for a while. Long story short, had knocking going around corners from day one, 2.7 years ago. Drove me, the Skoda dealers and SUK bonkers. Had a service the other day at an independent ( usually main dealers ). They replaced a track rod end............. Hey presto. No knocking. Car feels fabulous. Nice to have a happy ending.
  3. The higher the number, more pictures you will be able to obtain and they last longer inbetween charges. I am not that technical but always get the higher rated batteries and pay more just to get a longer life. Just give in, the other half was right.Lol. HTH
  4. 1200 is better than 1080. Basically the higher the number the better. 2500mAh are better again. HTH
  5. Looks good to me. Something different and unique. Why is he not on here? Or is he? I Like...
  6. My standard VRS on a good day @ 70,000 miles (nicely run in) indicates between 6.5 - 7.0 seconds. Bearing in mind that the speedometer is very liberal. I.E indicated 60 is really 57 MPH. Saying that there are only 2 cars that have whooped the VRS, 1 being a Lupo GTI and the other a fiesta ST. Me done now. Opens popcorn and relaxes.
  7. To be honest my overall experience with Skoda has been 7 / 10. All inclusive. Dealers .,...... Well i just hate them. The car I love it. Where else can you get a decent looking car that`s cheap to run and goes like sh!!t off of a shovel. Being a Yorkshireman this is the equivalent to a canine Whippet! And no DPF. Thank Goodness. Thing is this car is near enough perfect but the small faults it comes with highlights its imperfections. (I have had them I know) Then i realised this car is a horny little devil a real enthusiasts car. It`s not the equivalent of the woman you would marry. More like the little minx from your wildest dreams. HTH SUK really are just the marketing department for VW. If you have an issue, reason with the dealer or try your local VAG specialist. All the Best. PS Go to Sheffield for servicing.
  8. I have had the wire of death too. Fixed by the competent AA man. Probably chaffed because of the poor design of the battery covery. Much easier to rag up to get access components than to actually take off. Full main dealer service history here. Looking forward to the pics.
  9. Have a look at the QNAP range. The TS209II would probably fit your requirements. Twice the memory 256MB and a 500MHZ Cpu as opposed to 128MB and 266Mhz from the Synology nas. QNAP Systems, Inc. ( Products - NAS )- Quality Network Appliance Provider I have one and can recommend it. P.S Not starting a NAS war.
  10. Hi, just recently had the same quandry here. Upgrade from a perfectly respectable pc Intel P4@3GHZ Hyper Threading to a new pc just because the graphics card I had could not cut the mustard playing COD WAW. I chose the buy a replacement card route 7800 GS. Top of the line in its day. Best AGP card you can get ? although they do not sell them new anymore, always on E-Bay. Just checked and there aren`t any for now anyway. Generally sell for around £50-£70. Super card if like me you just want to make the PC last another few years.
  11. ??? What you gonna do, drive in there car park and surf the internet for free. Typical Yorkshireman. On a side note Bickertons in Sheffield have an internet connected pc you can use while you wait (free), and coffee (free).
  12. Had 2 screens in the VRS in 2 years and both came with top tint. In fact both fitters mentioned that the VRS had top tint. Thumbs up to autoglass from me, and thumbs down if the insurance companies are not doing like for like. To put it another way, as a potential buyer of a VRS if you did not have the top tint i would haggle you down a couple of hundred. Thereby the replacement screen could cost you money in real terms.
  13. Mine has been coming on recemtly due to the cold weather. Suspect the sensor cannot cope with the temp because as soon as it is +0 then it is OK. Maybe save your brass and see how it goes.
  14. Common problem is going around roundabouts and not getting around. Look up Rear ARB or Jabba. Makes you go around the roundabouts. Have fun and enjoy the new motor.
  15. Thanks all for your input. Nice to know this forum has a lot of intelligent and sensible members. Just for the record I am proud of being on the list. I do not agree with most of there policies, but a lot of them. Colour does not come into it for me although I feel I should mention it, being Colour blind is being blind to all the beautiful things in life. People are predjucised wether you are a different colour, wear a different uniform ETC. People always notice differences but not similarities. My point was if a list of names and addresses and tele no`s was published of for Example> 4*4 owners Civil Parking attendants. Brisky forum members> Whatever the media is making tomorrows Fish and Chip Paper. Although the original post was about politics, is that right?
