  1. I bought the standard Octavia ones from Skoda recently. The front ones fit nicely but the rear ones stick out too much so I just went with the front ones. The material rearward of the rear wheel is just plastic anyway so stone chips aren't such an issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks Aspman. I've taken it to the body shop today and they're going to raise the level of the chip proof paint to the level of the 'lip' over the whole length of the sill for no extra cost. Pretty good, eh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. 34. JamieO - Octavia VRS TFSI - Oct 2007 (57) - Failed May 2014 - 51,000 miles - 100% goodwill including diagnostic, fixed and sorted within a day. Car has full annual Skoda service history.
  4. Good advice, thanks everyone. I'll ask about the stone chip paint layer although I was only going to get the front half done. I was also thinking about getting some clear vinyl wrap to stick on the sill, like the stickers on the rear wheel arches. Can anyone advise if this is worth it, what wrap to use, and if it's easy to do without a heat gun? Thanks again
  5. Hi all I've had my '57 octavia VRS in blue for 2-3 months and I 'revealed' some stone chip damage/corrosion when power washing it. The metal is now visible on a couple places on the sill. From reading the forum stone chip damage in this area is common. Some of the areas are slightly superficially corroded. The other side had some fine bubbling. Now, I've booked it in for a respray later this week both sills for £250 and will fit front mud guards. I'm probably going to keep the car for 18 months - 2 years. My question to you is, am I being sensible in getting it sorted now before the rust develops, or shall I wait a year or two until I come to sell it? If I do it now, there's the risk that I could get more stone chips. But if I wait, could the corrosion worsen over that length of time to the degree that it will cost a lot more to fix, or even fail MOT? I'll try and get a picture Cheers Jamie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I bought my '57 plate octavia VRS TFSI a couple months ago and it's great. I've used this forum several times pre and post purchase and it's been very helpful, so thank you. Jamie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
