  1. Cheers bud  Not sure why it posted twice, can a mod delete the other redundant topic please? I've tried doing it myself but I can't find the option - probably my web browser being used (mobile safari and Internet explorer). Cheers.
  2. Hi all, Long-time member of Brisky here, used to own a Black Magic 56 reg vRS (NC56 LWE, anyone here have it?) but sold it on as I fancied performance petro. Scratched that itch with a couple of Type R's (including a lovely DC2) but have moved back to the Skoda brand with another vRS (This one, actually http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/371815-fabia-vrs-2007-sold/?fromsearch=1). Got a few issues with it I'll post later (have searched for answers already, some great help but not quite fitting for my probs) but just wondering if anyone recognises the car and can shed some light on its history? It's an '07 reg, Corrida Red (think it was Corrida..) that is apparently remapped to approx 165bhp however since its been a long while since my last vRS I can't remember the difference, although it feels very nippy to be honest there's no history to back up this claim and the previous owner just took the previous owner to them's word on it, so it's a bit airy lol. It's also got some different coloured interior lights :-). Blue in the left one, yellowish in the middle and purple in the far right ha, which only seems to want to work every now and then (will have to look at the wiring..). It's also got some ghastly front bulbs which seem blue and don't light the road up at all, so looking to change them ASAP (and in fact one doesn't work, which isn't the bulb unfortunately as it works in the other light...). It's been lowered on coilovers however I'm not sure which ones. It's as low as it'll go I imagine though - a nightmare for the speed bumps and generally very 'crashy' which doesn't go down well at all for SWMBO, she hates it :-). It's also got upgraded brakes, Brembo disks apparently (grooved too), the standard Cupra Splitter (which I've nearly taken off already by the aforementioned speed bumps ha) and a respected black grill. Oh and some standard 16's which are in dire need of a refurb :-). All in all love the car, just as great as I remember them and the torque drive is once again putting smiles on my face :-). I fondly remember Brisky being a really friendly, helpful place and looking around it seems it's never changed . I look forward to getting to know everyone again, cheers :-).
  3. Throwing a cheeky offer of £3,400 in here. Most likely won't get accepted but if you get no interest you know it's on the table Ideally I want a Lupo or Arosa TDi but given how quickly they bloody sell i've been looking at the many, many examples of these on AT, only thing that puts me off is I know nothing of Fords.
  4. Yeah, I used to drive eco sometimes in my old one and could get over 400 miles to a tank, but then the Lupo supposedly does this with a smaller tank (34 litres vs 45 IIRC?) If anyone can say how many miles they get to a tank from a vRS doing exclusively motorway miles circa 350 or more a week and it beats the Lupo i'd be all for the vRS
  5. Got any guides for this Tom? As it's something i'd definitely be interested in doing once/if i get one! Much appreciated mate
  6. Think i'd be going for a 1.4TDi Sport, seen one with red and black seated interior that looks nice :-) Not a far cry away from my Civic interior really, except there's no sports seats in the front lol Cheers for all the help though fellas
  7. Cheers for this but the interior isn't as nice as the Lupo, I know essentially they're the same car though :-)
  8. Brilliant, exactly what I wanted to hear! 72mpg nice! Thanks for everyone else's replies as well ;-)
  9. Hey all, I’m currently doing about 70ish miles a day now going to work and back so my current car is costing a fair bit to run (Civic Type R GT), I’m using a tank/week for it and a tank costs roughly £65ish. The car’s getting 38-40mpg which is really good for the type of car it is, but I’m planning on buying a house with the Mrs and as you’s can guess costs need to be cut to save as much as we can. This has led me to diesels – I use to own a Fabia vRS in the past (might be someone’s on here now? Black Magic 56 plate with leather interior and tints to the back? NC56 LWE) so I know how fun and frugal they can be. However, my questions are these: How much does it cost to fill the Fabias tank in todays money? And if anyone is doing roughly the same mileage as me (350ish miles a week) how many miles do you get from a tank? I was also thinking about the 1.4TDi Lupo, supposedly 63mpg, weighs hardly anything and with a remap should be hitting 100bhp no? I don’t need the car to be superfast, but having the Type R means the SDi is out of the question as it still needs to have some oomph and character So, can anyone help me? Is the vRS still as frugal as I remember? Or should I be opting for the Lupo?
  10. You think that's depreciation? Lol look at petrol hot hatches! Especially Civics :-(
  11. Couldn't go elsewhere, it had been done by this afternoon - silly parents! Sam, cheers for the guide mate, will come in handy! Now to buy some front disks, only a 1.4mpi so shouldn't be much
  12. Glad to see the Briskoda community is as helpful as ever! Thanks everyone for the advice/prices It was all for nought though, managed to get the parts and fitting for £60ish but my bloody dad had already booked it into Kwikfit for £220!! Anywhoo, I'm guessing soon she'll need her front brakes done as well, does anyone know the price of the two front brake discs? not the pads, just the disks i suspect. Also does anyone have a good fitting guide for the brakes? Preferable with pictures?
  13. Hello all! My mum recently had an MOT with her 1.4mpi Fabia, the problem was the nearside front lower suspension arm rubber bush had excessive movement in it, also the offside had play as well but was let with an advisory. Was wondering if any of the Briskoda community could help with part prices? As she's been quoted £250 for it I'm sure it should be a bit cheaper than that for one bush right? Tried a search but only the vRS came up - not sure if they use the same spec bushes so wasn't sure it'd help! Thanks in advance peeps ;-)
  14. Good to see the vRS still getting good times! Keep up the good work bud :-)
  15. What about a Civic Type R FD2? lol. Is yours the CW edition FN2?
