There is a road which I drive along which is very steep in short stretches (up to 50 degrees) and although there is no need from a safety point of view the gearbox changes down to third and even second gear to try and limit the speed to about 25 mph. This means that unless you apply the breaks to limit the speed to 25 mph the engine is revving at up to 4000 rpm which is not desirable. When you know what will happen on these sort of gradients you can you use your breaks to stop the stress on the gearbox and engine but when you experience this condition for the first time you wonder what the hell is going on. This seems like it might be connected to the off road system but should it happen when driving on 'A' roads. Does anyone know how stop this happening on normal road driving. Thanks for your reply Kenny R. With the confidence of what to do with your information I changed the old battery with a new one and guess what? The key worked straight away without anything else having to be done. So it seems that it is only necessary to put a new battery in and that is it. Thanks once again. 👍

I looked on a lot of sites to find a solar power system suitable for maintaining a full battery charge and all the reviews I read were of the opinion that they will not charge the battery sufficient to run the functions which require a fully charged battery. I would be very interested to hear your results and opinion when you feel you are able to make a considered comment. Hope it works well for you ttfn

Hello fellow Karoqas. There is nothing wrong with my battery but because the car is used infrequently the battery is not fully charged and this means a lot of the functions on the car do not work because the charge in the battery is below a required charge level for these functions to work.So therefore i want to use a trickle charger to bring the battery up to the required level of charge. Hello Skoda owners, Can anyone tell me if i would lose any functions on my Koraq 2ltr Edition 4x4 if i remove my battery from the car to put onto a charger.I need to remove the battery from the car because i do not have a suitable place under cover with which to charge the battery while still on the car. I always have my Koraq cleaned by a professional valeter who knows better than to use the wrong products.And now the reason it happens is different to what I thought it may be,at least I know it is down to poor design and as such it is a problem for Skoda to resolve at their expense. The point is that with my superb skoda told me it was the cleaning products being to acidic which had caused the problem,so the reason I am trying to find out if the chrome colour is on the underside then if that is the case cleaning products could not possibly causing what is happening. My Superb I owned previously started to look a right mess with milky spots all over the chrome strips and Skoda badges etc. I have had my Karoq Edition about 8 months from new now and the same thing is happening as well.Does anyone know whether these chrome effect items have the chrome colour under the plastic or is the chrome colour on the outside of the strip.I ask this because if it is on the underside I will not be fobbed off with the excuse that it is the fault of the cleaning products used to clean the car and not the poor manufacturing process. Can anyonespare the time to tell me how to connect and use android auto on my Karoq edition. The phone is shown to be charging when connected to the usb on the car so presumably the usb connection is good. Android auto is installed on my samsung s8. My phone is showing a bluetooth connection to my car.So when i enter into smartlink on my infotainment menu should I or do i have to select the android auto option of the three options on the screen and if i get no response when touching Android auto text on the left of the screen have i missed out on doing something.
