  1. I don't understand why we cannot talk about haldex without attitude and personal trips, I don't post yeti movies because I can't find any yet. Actually yeti should be even better offroad then tiguan since it's shorter. I am only interested to learn as much as possible about haldex system as I soon will be owner of this vehicle.
  2. may I asked more experience drivers here in using haldex equipped cars what is really going on at 2:25 on this video? Author claims that car has trouble because it doesn't have off road button hence EDL didn't kicked in, but I read on this form this button is added mostly for convenience for inexperience drivers, I read this on Graham's thread I believe somewhere. SO why EDL didn't work in that case?
  3. as we see here haldex can take you same places as off-roader montero can
  4. yeah, technology has evolved but you cannot cheat the physics so a little bit of knowledge on subject would help you out with right decision. Just saying, it's your money after all.
  5. I admire you guys I must say - buying 1.2 TSI engine producing over hundred HP is asking for trouble IMO.
  6. well, I completely disagree here. If the driver relied only on electronics he'd fail. Thanks for manipulating the steering wheel he helped the system and finally made it.
  7. wrong, driver skills are still required as on this video. Without driver input any AWD system would fail here.
  8. does anybody know what that offroad button in yeti/tiguan does except turning off ESP and turning on hill assist ? For instance is EDL engaged too in this mode?
  9. Finally I found Touareg video which I believe has haldex as well, as we can see there is no camera tricks here and the hill is pretty steep. Wonder though if haldex can be programmed differently in other cars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxeYllDjHUE
  10. ok, do you see here trees pointing in wrong direction? even peple are standing down there straight up. This is not haldex i know but still incredible. Camera angle?
  11. here is the haldex 5 explained and BTW this above video is heavy subaru biased and quite old as well so have no use in this discussion.
  12. exactly, here is the same hill with view from the top, it's pretty damn steep...
  13. I wonder if haldex in situation like this (uphill) can sense there is much bigger pressure on the rear axle then on front and that's why it sends power there without any slippage from front wheels.
  14. I thought that too at first but look at the trees, they're straight vertical... regarding fabia...that's a good one. I understand yeti has exactly same power train as tiguan so yeti would this as well.
  15. look for the climb starting at 1:36...this is freaking fantastic! haldex, proper tires plus driving skills are amazing combination. This video made me go to order new outdoor yeti. BTW, hello everybody.
