  1. Time has come to move my fabia on. Kinda gutted in a way but with it coming up to 60k on the clock I just don't wanna have that worry. Now my question is - I have a rather nice number plate which wouldn't really fit on any other car (F2 VRS) I have absolutely no clue what this is worth any sort of guidance what I should be putting this up for on ebay? Cheers
  2. Tried finding the guide on here but sadly the pictures are no longer available. Just need to know which sensor is which. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Cheers.
  3. Was supposed to pick the part up today (£9) only to find out they'd received the wrong piece. They've been sent a jubilee clip which has the right part number apparently. I thought the whole point of unique part numbers is to avoid situations like this. So now I have to wait until Saturday.
  4. Probably gonna charge me an arm and a leg for a piece of plastic. Looks like a trip for Monday. Cheers
  5. Taking off my ever so crappy bov I've managed to snap a sort of bracket which connect 2 of the hoses together for the charger. Going to need to get a new one so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.
  6. Thanks ski! only asked as you're literally in my hometown. gl with the sale.
  7. Any idea if these would fit a hatch vrs?
  8. may be a very stupid suggestion but I have worked with vehicles where the lights are switched via a relay. not sure if that's the case here but had an absolute nightmare with a citron relay (wheyy) and this problem before. ended up that there was an issue with the wiring between the stalk and the relay. first thing would be to check for simultaneous bulb failure though. Good luck.
  9. Tough question. I can't see myself getting another Skoda, lost faith in their customer services and to be honest they just don't make a Skoda with enough power for myself. I've looked at a few alternatives, my favorite being the golf R closely followed by the A45 AMG mercedes. I've loved my fabia for the 3.5 years i've had it and I dont plan on part exchanging or selling my vRS when I upgrade. I genuinely want to keep this car for as long as possible. my heart will always be with my fabia.
  10. so for the second time in 3 months I've come home to a note on my because someone can't park. first the back left all scratched and today the front right across my bumper. a little bit peeved to say the least. Was wondering if the bumpers can be bought in green anywhere or whether i'll have to get one sprayed - of course I wont be paying so I really couldn't care less about price. I think it's time I find a new place with off road parking haha.
  11. Just a heads up - I pay about £800 at the age of 21 with a 6k claim on it. so i'd double check that. There are a lot of ways to bring your premium down, even buying a month in advance drastically changes it in a lot of cases. I'd seriously do some homework on that. good luck with however you proceed with this!
  12. Couldn't agree more Mike. my accident wasn't half as bad as this and it was never the same afterwards.
  13. Mine's still going. Had engine issues at 20k but after the engine change i've had no issues really. Love the car. I do like the swifts as well. for me the DSG just round it off, pleasure to drive - I've even taken mine on a 4k euro trip with 0 problems. With the help of people here and a bit of tlc I think you can easily maintain them.
  14. jesus christ, both driver and passanger side? that's gonna cost a fair bit and surely be a fair bit of work. that looks a fair bit of work before you even take into consideration the damage to suspension. I'd seriously consider insurance in this case.
  15. Very sorry to hear this. Personally I agree with ally on this. I had an accident in my fabia over 3 years ago now, my own fault admittedly but it was never the same afterwards, still having problems with it to this day, in hindsight I wish they'd written mine off, but at the same time it's my pride and joy. I've got a spare set of standard springs and shocks for a vrs, I believe they're the same. Bought them off someone on here about a year or so ago planning to fit them and maybe rid the issues with my handling but come to the conclusion the suspension had no part to play. only done about 4000 miles. if you have the gigaro alloys I'd heavily suggest browsing ebay a couple of times a week. I got a perfect one for only £30 on there. Good luck.
  16. Just a quick update on this. stripped the left side down, after a few set backs with not being able to get the hub nut off, I got there. luckily a friend of mine works in aviation and was able to take a few MM off the outside of the socket was able to get the hub nut off. Got the bearing pressed for £15 at CIVS in Cardiff who were keen to know the history. Fitted the nice new shiny bearing and it's not safe to say it's all good. I never realised just how much sound the old bearing was causing. However, One for the people who may remember my mysterious knocking noise which was coming from both sides on full lock. That has mysteriously disappeared. Been driving it for a good couple of weeks now and I've not heard it once. Confused, but i'll take it. Thanks for the help.
  17. I was planning on sorting mine so the voice control worked when pressed on the steering wheel. I did find out how to do it but I hit a brick wall when I also couldn't find the Bluetooth module. I spent hours looking for it and gave up. Maybe i'll give it a go again this weekend now you've reminded me. Will let you know if I find anything useful.
  18. Used CIVS for the first time yesterday. Great service and top blokes in general. Will definitely be using again.
  19. I was told the same as yourself Millsy, The guy said he'd give it a good go but that it wouldn't be like new. These alloys do appear on ebay from time to time and can sell relatively cheap or sometimes not at all...
  20. I absolutely destroyed my front left alloy over a year ago. kept an eye on Ebay and got one for £50 after about 3 months of waiting, got another one as a spare for £80 a few months after. Might have to try touching my other two up, they have slight wear on them as well.
  21. If this is still available I'll take it off your hands. Cheers.
  22. As Offski just stated, the original had problems after Skoda in Cardiff changing my engine. The replacement had issues due to being fitted incorrectly. This time I'm doing the stripping down and fitting. I sadly don't have the correct tools to press the bearing or I'd do that myself as well. I'm sure this time it'll be pressed correctly. The only thing that was throwing me is the different measurements under the specs on eurocarparts. I have standard brakes. Going to just get the FAG one. Got it booked in for a 4 wheel alignment Saturday then. Skoda wouldn't press the bearing for me anyway (I checked out of curiosity)
  23. I'm doing all the purchasing myself. All they're doing is pressing it for me so haven't really hassled them too much over prices, prefer to deal with the purchasing myself. I thought due to them having different disc sizes in the figment details that some would be incompaticable. Thanks for the help!
  24. http://www.eurocarparts.com/wheel-bearing-and-wheel-hub Which of them would be best?
  25. Yes, they do. It's a Skoda specialist based in Cardiff, seen and heard great reviews. This is the reason I'm getting it done by a specialist as it was previously pressed incorrectly. I won't take it to Skoda in Cardiff due to the **** they've given me in the past. Just need to know the best one for the car without going to Skoda. Price doesn't matter. Just need the specs.
