  1. Had mine back to local garage. Only reading after full diagnosis was a slightly high output from alternator, and some damaged wiring under bulkhead, wiring replaced, fault ligjht still continues Amyone also had new discs and pads recently got the problem.................or is it the mouse in the garage eating my bulkhead felt!!
  2. Hi strange this one, i have been having same problem for a few days. Dont know about the exactly 10 mins thro, but i do know it comes on whatever, cant see a pattern.......and if i turn off ignition and restart it goes out......for a while then returns maybe ill take to local skoda taxi repair place and ask them................
  3. cheers............but annoyed garage did it! surely they should make good,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  4. Hi fabia 1.4 16v 5 yrs old lamba sensor has apparently failed. is it difficult to replace? garage has sheared part of it when trying to remove, leaving part embedded in manifold! quoting another £270 plus labour to replace manifold.............any observations gratefully excepted
  5. Hi fabia 1.4 16v 5 yrs old lamba sensor has apparently failed. is it difficult to replace? garage has sheared part of it when trying to remove, leaving part embedded in manifold! quoting another £270 plus labour to replace manifold.............any observations gratefully excepted.
  6. Fabia 1.9tdi estate 2006 40k quoted £268 for service plus £41 for brake fluid change. This is about twice as much as i paid on previous fabia tdi.
  7. The turbo and intercooler died at 25k on my 2006 fabia. The start of it was a "whistle"
  8. I have had this problem many times on my Nov 56 fabia estate. The cause seems to be that the catch on the body of the car (to the left when looked down on) bends slightly out of alignment. The metal is too thin, and using pliers very carefully you can align again with the mechanism on the boot lid. I always keep the catch oiled well too. I know this problem has occurred on other Fabia estates. But as you state it is very annoying. Especially when boot is full, and everything has to be taken out via the real doors. I now have the "knack" of climbing between the lowered seats and moving the mechanism by hand!! THE PHOTO SHOWS THE POSITION OF THE LATCH IN WORKING ORDER
  9. Dealer says its oil contamination, apparently turbo has shed debris onto intercooler, so both need replaced and "flush through" car only done 26k and both services done early.
  10. boost up to 50 ish, not known if black smoke dont think so as i was being followed...... when RAC compared my brothers fabia ,... the pipe between turbo and intercooler pressurised on accleration When same thing done on my car the pipe contracted (as if sucked in) thanks for help
  11. fabia has only done 26k.................but was remapped when new at STAR................... why no codes shown nor warning lights
  12. Hi, Was driving the car on M53 the other day, when suddenly no throttle response over 50mph...........just a whistle ! When stationary car starts and revs ok, but whistle from 2ooo revs upwards..... RAC checked all turbo / intercooler pipes. Negative pressure in turbo/intercooler pipe. No fault codes found by RAC Car now towed to dealers...........Any ideas ??
