  1. I managed to put this in the wrong section please follow link: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/352378-crash-car-insurance-help/#entry4223897
  2. if it sounds like this and its a turbo back, ill take one. I like it a lot.
  3. Well, im coming back to the UK, flights are booked for the 12th. Job ended, price of oil has drastically dropped. Glad i kept the fabia now, as i still have a car to use while im back home. Cant wait to drive it again, tired of this rotter of a ford i have out here. Looking for work globally, so depending on when the santapod thing is, i may actually come
  4. Ill look into it and update when i find out dates im able to have off. the box is still on the car, and im stuck out here so cant remove it. it will be up for sale at some point, just not now.
  5. Hey George, Very weird how i checked in here and there is a post about me Im doing well, im still out in Bucharest, Romania, my contract has drastically changed so im now based out here. good and bad i guess, more money, but less time home. the car is still in the UK, i was back home in October for 4 days to collect my car from Aberdeen and take it back to Hartlepool for my parents to mind. what a pleasure it was to drive, i miss it even more now. My mam is currently taking it out once a week to 'blow the cobwebs off it' I got tired of old dacia taxis so decided to buy myself a car, every car i viewed was hammered, 2010-2012 cars with mismatched panels... so decided on, of all things, a MK5 Fiesta Zetec S, which is causing me no end of problems with parts and repairs due to age. it is a huge regret. What date are you guys heading to SP? im able to come home whenever i wish, it just means no paid leave It would be good to meet everybody i have spoken to on here finally. Hope all is well with yourself. Matthew
  6. people have used HIDs for years, plenty on here with fabias have been using 55w with no issues. the HID is behind a glass projector, not directly pointing at the lens so this is irrelevant. HIDs use a good chunk more power to boot up that split second you see a bright light is not enough time to worry about issues. they get that surge of power on Startup, not for long periods of time, a few seconds. in fact i know of people who have been running 100w-120w halogen bulbs with no issues.. dont see what this scare mongering is about?
  7. like i said, bluespark replug and tune these for free, but after postage here there and everywhere, IMO it would be much easier to just buy one suited to your car.
  8. No you wont, the standard halogen bulbs are 55w. hids are rated a lower watt as they burn brighter so dont need to be as powerful... Just a note: so if it were me, and i was to do it again i would be getting a H7 55W Canbus kit, like the one i posted above. my HID direct kit came with chinese writing on a sticker down the side also, and there was nothing IMO different between the HID direct kit and a £10 HID kit mates have had in the past. i felt ripped off haha.
  9. I went for the HID direct kit, there isnt a lot of difference between them and the ebay kits. theyre all pretty much built in a warehouse in china. i would personally after seeing friends kits go for a cheaper Ebay one! something like this, half the price http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CANBUS-PRO-XENON-HID-CONVERSION-KIT-H1-H7-6000K-8000K-ERROR-FREE-LONG-LIFE-/200916468994?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ec78e0502 But IMO, i wanted more light so if i were to do it again i would go for a 55w kit! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hid-55W-Canbus-No-Error-Slim-Hid-Xenon-Kit-H1-H4-H7-Bulbs-4-3K-5K-6K-8K-10K-12K-/271596037529?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&var=&hash=item3f3c62a599
  10. I was worried when i bought a HID kit as i didnt know how to fit them. Theyre so simple. I fit mine in around 15-20 minutes, mainly due to the struggle with horrible conversion bulb holders, my advice, cut your OE bulb holders, then buy some new OE ones, so you have them spare if you ever need to swap back. DO NOT mess around with the conversion holders, theyre around the same price as OE. RE your ballasts, i 3M double sided taped mine to the metalwork. easy peasy as long as the metal is clean! dont be worried, theyre **** easy to fit, and actually light up the road brilliantly!
  11. If its a 1.4tsi, yes, if not, no. although if you have one of these boxes, bluespark can retune/replug them to suit other cars...
  12. Im now working in romania full time, instead of my monthly rotation of 1 on 1 off, so will not be in the uk for more than a couple of weeks of the year, just makes sense to sell the car, instead of keeping it when it wont get any use at all :/ no reason other than that, I will be getting a car over here to make it a bit easier for me and my girlfriend to get around, tempted by a Gen 1 Cooper S.
  13. Leaving intercooler, there is no way i would remove the front of the car for a £70 cooler thinking of taking the induction kit to romania with me as i may be picking up a cheap cooper s and this would be perfect, so its just the Bluespark box which will be for sale, i keep telling people it will be going cheap, as i got it when it was on offer for £125 not £180
  14. shameless plug, Mine will be up for sale next month, if you can wait till around the 20th, you can have mine off me cheap.. i got mine for £125 so there are savings to be had on top of this due to the fact i got it so cheaply when they had a deal on...
  15. So guys, the time has come to say goodbye, my contract has changed AGAIN so it looks like im working over here full time now, instead of my original monthly rotation :/ im just giving anybody the heads up who is looking for a hatch that my car is going to be on the market soon. due to my plans changing I was originally going to put it up on autotrader and sell it privately as the cheapest VRS on online, but now i think i will be taking the bigger hit and sticking it into one of the webuy companies. the heads up is mainly because it was a nice really genuine car. hadn't used a drop of oil in the very short time i had owned it and it had seriously been a pleasure to own! i had no reliability issues, and had just got 4 high end tyres like 500 miles ago haha :( i thought this one was a keeper, its a shame. i will be checking in here regularly and following builds as always though! I will be putting it in a garage next month in N.E England, so yeah keep a look out for: Silver and black hatch reg: SD60XJV 23k miles i think. its a shame its only been a short ownership, both personally and financially. spoken to some good people here, i've enjoyed it. Matthew
  16. Im out in romania now, performance cars out here seem very rare and hard to find, ive found about 8 sts so far though, and this is the only car i have missed which i sold. literally put it in the garage as a trade and regretted it the moment i got in the fabia! :( Big plans for this one though..
  17. I dont know what it is on here, but whenever you mention intercoolers, people get their balls in a right twist. its simple, heat = less power, getting rid of the heat = more power putting an intercooler 3 times the height and about half the extra thickness means there is a much larger heat sink to get rid of that heat. actually i was going to write some information on the matter but i genuinely cant be bothered. I remember some kid on here when i was fitting mine making out i was adding 50kg to the front of the car and it would upset handling etc and that a larger cooler is outweighed by the fact you're bolting something heavy to the front of the car haha. get me back in a MK2 Focus ST asap! found tons of them over here in RO!
  18. Think this is the guy i was talking to before i done an intercooler on mine, hartlepool and 40ftlbs more sounds like the same lad...
  19. look at the Bluespark box, that coupled with an FMIC is incredible value! £280 for a safe fast 200hp+! my car currently stands me at £370 in modifications thats intercooler, centre box removal, Carbon induction kit, and bluespark tuning box, and is now quick enough to hang with 2.0 leon cupra Rs. and theyre very fast cars!
  20. Pardon george? were talking about vRSs here. this was on a 1.4tsi, using the same dyno, the same month. i think it was 36nm, which was gained, that number sticks in my head. Obviously it was not the same day, its a 5 hour procedure fitting one of these.. but saying that, no day is ever the same, so in my books what does this matter? such a large gain would back up my claims of one day not spinning the wheels too much in the wet, then once i fit this, constantly hitting off the limiter up until 100+ To anyone, i say look. just do it, its £100 and some cut knuckles, its not that a hard of job to do, but its only screws and nuts at the end of the day, remember where they go and everything will be fine, the hardest bit for me was a support for the cooler in the end i supported it with my feet while i knocked something up. or maybe panel gaps around the headlights.
  21. they are worth while on a stock car imo, or else they would fit even smaller ones from factory I noticed an immediate improvement on my car, it was like night and day. seriously. A guy i know on facebook from my hometown had a dyno graph of around 40nm gain on before and after dyno, his mods were exhaust, induction kit, remap, and a Universal Intercoolers, intercooler kit.
  22. these engines imo are highly tuned as standard. the more cooling the better. in the intercoolers case, IT NEEDS DOING IMO. its such a small, thin and light cooler, you will feel a massive difference swapping it out, especially if youre booting it up through the gears repeatedly
  23. walk im sure there are plenty of other cars around which fit what youre looking for. afterall its a buyers market, and if theyre wanting to sit on a car like that, let them. then they will have to drop the price to sell it. while its taking up a space on the lot where there could be a better car for them to pass on, leave it, theyre mugs imo. even cambelt in 1 year would put me off.
  24. As long as you dont break/lose anything, i suggest lots of aerosol can lids/tubs some tape and paper to make labels and a few blankets. the reason it took me 5 hours is because i was alone, and kept putting things on in the wrong order... hahaha! so annoying fitting 3-4 things, then realising you have to take them off because you needed to attach something before you put the crash bar back on.. never again imo. just because i would honestly rather pay somebody to fit it for me. but the option is there for people who want to have an uprated intercooler and are too tight like me/cant afford the very expensive (yet looks to be worth it) forge item
  25. thought these were made to literally bolt into original pipework/bumper? either way, the end tanks are already curved, you will need 30cm of silicone hose, 2 joiners, and 4 high quality clips still pretty cheap, but then its starting to add up a little. may as well be cheap and do it my way, for £110. postage, hose, clips, joiners.
