  1. Yes it was connected alright and rechecked yesterday. Does sound like the noise is coming from the rack alright :( going to have to get another S3 rack now or put the original back in. Thanks Garry. Neil.
  2. Thanks for the reply I had the original arms swopped over, they were fine on my original rack so I can see one of them failing within an hour of the S3 rack being fitted. Do you think there could be a problem with the rack itself? Thanks, Neil.
  3. Hi all, Had the S3 rack fitted today but I have a bit of a problem :thumbdwn: There is a slight knocking/grinding when the steering wheel is turned slightly, it happens both with the engine on and off. Seems to be when there id strain put on the rack, just as the road wheel starts to turn there is a knock. Checked everything is tight. The original steering rods and rod ends where used from my old rack and swopped onto the S3 one. Any ideas:confused: Thanks, Neil.
  4. Cheers Gary, The guy I got the rack off said it was the 2.5 turns one so should be ok Neil
  5. I got this info from another member of the forum Set all bump and rebound valves to standard possitions as shown in the KW manual then I found the following to work really well (its amazing how much difference 1 click makes, so any tweeking do gradually) Front top (rebound) 3 clicks softer (half a Turn anti clock) Rear top (rebound) Just over half a turn softer (anti clock) Front Bottom (Bump) Quater turn softer Rear Bottom (Bump) 1 click softer (quarter turn) I found this not only increased grip dramatically but also made the ride much more comfortable - they are over damped as standard which made them terrible in the wet also.
  6. Some all purpose cleaner and a light bristle brush will bring it up nicely, did mine the other day.
  7. Order one on-line and get it delivered to your hotel, next day delivery...I've just done it Neil.
  8. I got this kit All Inclusive Deluxe Timing Belt Kit for all Transverse-mounted 1.8T engines in Golf/Jetta/GTI/Audi TT and New Beetle with engine codes AWD, AWW, AWP, APH, AWV, ATC, AMU, BEA It has everything needed for a cambelt/water pump change. Neil.
