Power steering pipe burst
Skodaphobe replied to Skodaphobe's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Sorry I've only just come across this thread whilst looking for an answer for some one else. The pipe I had made worked but it whistled for some reason I think the banjos at the ends where thicker so it restricted the flow abit so I replaced with a second hand pipe which sorted it for a year then that burst and now I have a new pipe on sorry for the delay. -

Ok thanks we'll I've replaced my original intercooler and sensor with the ones fitted to the doner car the intercooler has the number (1j0 145 803 s) and as far as i know it was boosting fine. Ile put a few miles on my car and ile wait to see if I get any lights on my dash. If there is any vag com owners in the northants area that will plug me in to see if any thing is going on ile happily pay

I had a look on the Bosch part finder website and found that the part is a suitable replacement for (SKODA Octavia 1.8 RS [1U2] 132KW/ 180PS 1.8l 02.2003 - 09.2004) so I think it will be ok. I don't have access to vag com unfortunately. if it is over boosting wouldn't it go into limp mode or would the fact it might be a higher pressure sensor it might not detect it

How do I find out what my car is as I can't find either of them numbers any where
-
fingers crossed mankee it's my first skoda and since owning I've spent £££ maintaining and repairing and can't say that even once it's performed for me. I got shown up by a 1.8 zetec focus the other day and it hurt lol :( I want to see him again and show him what a skoda can do lol.

Sorry wrote the post with out my glasses on lol. And my car is an 02 mk1 octy vrs and the doner car was an 04 mk1 and my original part number is 0281002177 and 036906051. I'm unsure whether my performance increase is because I have finally found my boost problem! or it's now over boosting.

The other day I was picking over a mk1 octy vrs that was being broken and I brought a map sensor amongst other things from said car as mine had badly corroded screws. Today I decided to fit it,and as always the I ran into problems both screws disintegrated I tried to drill them out but it wasn't happening so I removed intercooler only to find it was shagged. I rang the bloke and went and picked up the intercooler off the same car and fitted it. When I looked at the two map sensors they was different sizes I'd say one was 17mm the original. the new one 12mm ish and the part numer on the new was different ( 028100239) ( 0388906051b)!does any one know if it is compatible as the car?. My car is completely different to drive and is boosting hard which it never has :/

Octavia 1 vRS bits very cheap - want shifted quick
Skodaphobe replied to devonutopia's topic in Parts For Sale
Yeah that's the mount with reservoir on top and that's the pipe attached to the pancake pipe and the "charge pipe" if that's what it's called is the stainless pipe that it connects To that runs up to the top of the engine that the recirc valve and the n75 plumbs into mate and thanks again for the steering rack and pump from previously sale worked a treat. TOP SELLER HERE LADS!! -

I'm after a rocker cover, inlet Mani and throttle body, charge pipe and the silicon pipe that links to the pancake and the big engine mout near charcoal canister if u have them -
So what you been doing to your VRS lately?
Skodaphobe replied to Big Lee's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Adding to my maintenance and preventative mods I replaced the sai pump rivets with m4 40 machine bolts washers and nyloc nuts and also done the pikey arch mod with a b&q plastic vent riveted and sprayed black. -
Sorry to jump on op's topic. I'm also experiencing poor boost through out the rev range all clips on hoses are tight replaced most of the silicon vacumme hoses but I can hear air escaping near the drivers wheel and believe this pipe you mention may be the culprit, does any one have a part number Tia!

What is this pipe/hose called
Skodaphobe replied to Joe1906's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Yeah I have the same beliefs in fit and forget, usually because there such a pig to fit in the first place. The supersize tip is wat I'm hoping to to fit at the same time but I'm abit worried reading bowders guide as I haven't done any deletes so I know it's going to be tight, but if i do it all together ile only cut my knuckles once lol! -

That's brilliant thank you! It was hard to picture where they went from memory ile be ordering myself a set and ile buy there clamp set they offer too. Did you notice any performance improvement or is it just better appearance and durability over the originals fitted? -

Silver bullet looking at that link can u confirm wat the other pipes are. I believe the two small ones are the pipe in question in the op's post, and the other is the one that links too the n75 valve, the large pipe I think links the smic to the tb and the small collar one would be for a cai intake or cone filter but wat is the 90 degree reducer one for? Tia -
Bowders1 I didn't understand what the op meant when he said oversized tip I thought he meant a tip for a ko4 turbo on his ko3s so was trying to imagine some kind of tapered coupler my mistake. I now no what I want and realise from reading your guide that I'm in for a battle as I'm running a standard setup with no simplifications, so lie kiss good my by to the skin on my knuckles and a whole day fitting it

Failed MOT on emissions, booooo
Skodaphobe replied to mluton's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
David 8 have u used this service can vouch for the results? my cars just about to click over 170k with nearly a full service history but I've only owned it for about 4 months so can't comment on its past. It says it's a preventive measure so is it to late really for me to benefit in your opinion -
Wow! There is a big difference between them seeing them side by side like that

Guna get a look a bowders pics now I wanna see if I can see his one. I've thrown out nearly all the pipes in my car as there all like jelly after my car only doing 1000 miles in4 years before I rescued it from previous owner
