The car (engine) either takes a long time to reach temp (30 mins+under constant load e.g. an a cruise on the motorway), and when it does under light use the temp goes down, or it doesn't reach temp at all. The heating therefore never gets hot/warm, especially the last few cold days. Happens in all weather not just the cold. The car is never used for short journeys. Any ideas? Thermostat or something else, the car runs fine otherwise. Thanks in advance for any info.

I saw on here not long ago that hammerite do a colour that's pretty close to vrs green. might be worth a search? (I tried but lost interest) If I remember correctly it was on a fabia project thread.

Any thoughts on the mer polish I found?

BT thanks mate bit of a treck, appreciate it though! What would you suggest for sub £25? The car is black (mark 1 fabia vrs black magic paintwork) and I have AG SRP, AG EGP oh and a pot of Mer polish!

chris- I did a very small area, with a very small amount of product, it sat on the car for 20 seconds before i buffed it off. I may find that doing the whole car using this method tedious but I will give it a go and let you know! I have now progressed from the sponge method haha On another note i found some mer polish in the shed, light blue container chrome cap how does this compare to AG srp? BT- I will hopefully be getting Auto Smart WAX, next time the rep comes round, will be getting som g101 aswell. Not set on this wax, but I can get it for £25 so it represents good value. I am located in Kent, Faversham, whys that?

Really? I tried a panel on the van yesterday and it seemed ok! I am doing my fathers Audi Friday night and was going to try it on that ( small areas at a time) his car is grey metallic. So would it offer any protection? Or will it just dull the finished look?

Well it will be a few weeks until I can get hold of the WAX I want!! So I bought some simoniz wax (in a gold tin) from Wilkos for £8 will hopefully apply this at the weekend after a top up coat of extra gloss protection. How long would you leave it between the egp and applying the simoniz wax? Also whats the wax like?

Thanks for the quick reply chris! I ag srp and ag egp! Next time the reps about I will have some autosmart wax! I did clay mittv( g3) the car 2 weeks ago. I washed it this week and put another coat of egp on it. It beads nice.

Quick question, the car is parked near/under a tree every night, the sap annoys me every night! I was wondering a few things really! What is the best form of protection? What method should I use when I wash it? ( rinse, foam, rinse, wash) Should I be washing it midweek? I would say its light debris and sap but makes my black car look grubby! Solo annoying! Thanks for any advice.

I have searched and cannot find much information on what garages or mechanics people use. So thought I'd try and get a guide of trusted and well informed garages or mechanics that Fabia owners use! So please recommend and provide a location for the people who carry out the work on your cars.

I know boss fox is having the interior and dash, does this include the front cup holder (pop out next to radio)?

Skodalad, the whole car looks really nice! I especially love the seats! How much of a pain were thy to get in? I have heated seats so may have to do without heat if i swap them!

Ok thanks for your advice! Think I will leave it well alone until it needs a clean! My engine seems to warm up quickly and stay at 80 degrees so I don't think I will gain anything there! Thanks again!
