  1. The boot light in the Roomster stays on all the time when the boot is open. Is there any (relatively easy) way to modify this so you can switch it on and off as required, like all the other door lights in the car? Thanks,
  2. Excellent! Thanks for the photos. It looks very tight for space to get your hands at the bulb - especially at the drivers side. I'll give it a go at the weekend though...
  3. How did you get on replacing the bulbs? I need to do the same thing - did you need to remove the whole light assembly or did you manage by just removing the rubber seal. Thanks
  4. So all I need to do is go along to a VW dealer and ask for an aerial for a Polo? Does it have a specific part number? The short antenna version would suit me too. Thanks.
  5. I broke the aerial on my Roomster last week reversing into my garage.( The aerial is rear fitting on a 2008 car) . I contacted my local Skoda garage for a replacement who said I can't buy just the antenna but I also have to get the base fitting as well. For the garage to fit the whole thing, they quoted me £134.40 !! :peek: Plan B is to buy a replacement from eBay. They have loads of cheap ones available but I don't think any are the right type. Any ideas where I can get a replacement antenna? Than
  6. I've had my Roomster for just over a year. I think the car is great, except for the radio. It was never 100% crystal clear but in the last month or so reception has become terrible. Sometimes it's okay but most of the time it's so crackly I can't make anything out. If I drive other cars in the same area the reception is perfect. I've read elsewhere that it could be the radio antenna, or the base of the aerial, or even the radio unit (Dance). Is there a dummies guide out there with steps on what to test to work out what's wrong, and how to fix it? I've never had any radio problems with any other cars I've had. What's the flaw in the Skoda systems? I have a 2008 Roomster (aerial at the back) and the Dance radio unit. I can't even work out how to remove the antenna! Thanks for any help or advice you can give. DG

  8. As a very late update to this post, I finally found and bought a Roomster Scout with panoramic sunroof and maxidot! The car suits my needs perfectly and I'm well chuffed .
  9. My mistake.... it's a "3", not an SE but thanks for the feedback so far. The one with panoramic sunroof seems to be the one to go for....
  10. I'm looking around for another car and have decided the Roomster is the one to go for. I've found a couple of used ones - both 1.9 TDI, almost identical mileage but one is a Scout and the other is SE. As far as I can make out, the Scout has the body kit, slightly higher ride and tinted windows. The SE version I've spotted has panoramic roof, cruise control, chrome and leather packs. The price (before haggling) for the Scout is £500 more than the SE. Which type is the best to go for? ...or is it simply personal preference? Thanks, DG
