Did measuring blocks on Wednesday on the cruise control stalk and they where showing all buttons and pedals were doing what they should do but scanned and tried today and the buttons on the end of the stalk where not showing as working. Hi all trying to output test on my instrument cluster it goes to start the test the needles move a little then stops doing the test. Normally the needles go all the way to max then min then goes half way around and stops. Now I'm having a cut out problem on the dash and the engine could this point to the dash having a fault?

battery is less then 2 years ago. It does seem like the battery is being disconnected and reconnected within seconds when the engine turns itself back on but radio and all lights stay on. Just the engine dies and speedo dies

Hi all been having a problem with the car cutting out. Symptoms are engine dies while driving dash powers off can hear a relay click under the dash and when the power comes back the steering wheel light on the dash is on. I have been reading about online about this and some people are saying camshaft sensor/ wiring. Would that cause what I have described because I have only ever seen the steering wheel light come on after the battery has been disconnected. I have checked the battery connections changed the steering wheel control module and swapped relays and I'm still getting this problem. This is on my Octavia mk2 2.0tdi pd140 56reg 120k on the clock.

Hi all been having a cut out issue today 4 times on the way to work and 2 times on the way home. on the 4th times on the way to work i spent about 20 min trying to get it to fire up it was turning over but not firing. the only thing i can see amiss from under the bonnet is the anti shudder valve plug is broke so it wont stay clipped on. it just so happened when i pushed it back on and it fired up after a few cranks. i have done a log trough vcds below. i cleared all the codes and took the car for a drive no cutting out and no codes come back. can anyone help or had this problem and fixed it? Hi all after a bit of help. I have a pioneer da120 in my car with steering wheel controls connected, when I push the mute button it only turns the volume down it goes quiet but you can still hear it its called ATT don't know what that means. There is a setting on the head unit to turn mute to mute att or off I have tried all options but no joy. I'm assuming that the cable that's in the back of the unit that says mute needs to be connected to something but haven't got a clue to what can anyone help?

So I have the steering wheel loom kit to fit an aftermarket headunit it says it's fits a fabia, Octavia, roomster and a superb. You would also need a patch cable depending on what make of radio you have but they are only a few pounds well for a pioneer it was £3 from eBay. My parrot key in the Octavia used to power down after turning the key off so after turning the key off it used to switch off 10 seconds after.

You got any pictures of it in your car. I have tested it in my car but waiting for the trims and everything to turn up. The wife brought me the unit for my birthday and didn't buy the trims :-( so I have to wait lol just wanna see what it looks like in the Octavia

lol just read my post back and your right lol sorry i dont suppose you could do a video of the unit powering up then after its all running take the key out. it just don't seem right to me all other units i have ever used powers down like a pc would so it doesn't corrupt any software. what do you think of the head unit? have you used the hdmi connection to mirror the phone or just use the car play?

I do have a switched live from the climet control unit. When I take the key out the unit turns off. But what I want to know is when you turn the key off there is normally a delay on the radio turning off. All others after market head units I have had before when you turn the key off it stays on and when you pull the key out the radio powers down like a computer. At the moment it just turns off and does not power down when you turn the key to the off position.

If I do red to yellow and yellow to red the headunit loses memory and has to be set up again. but red to red and yellow to yellow it remembers all the settings. I have the switched live from the climet control unit so I'll try running from the fuse box what did you guys piggy back in to? Also if I tap in to the climet control lighting will that make the head unit dim down when I turn the lights on for night driving.

Just fitted a pioneer Da120 in to my mk2 pre fl octavia 56 reg. Having a bit of trouble with it I know if you don't change the red and yellow witch ever way around its meant to be it should stay on when you remove the key but it don't? It turns off also when you turn the key the radio just cuts out and don't down power down? I have a switched live from the climes control also when I turn the head lights on the radio don't dim. Now I don't know if this is because I'm using the ISO connector from my old parrot or what but it just don't seem right.

The radio I'm getting already comes with a cage for the radio to slide in to so does that mean all I need is the facia to cover the front or are there bits that the cage from the radio needs to go in to be held in place?
