  1. From a copyright infringer and as stated to tother guy, show us yours, I've showed you and all mine. But you cannot because it's ripped off.
  2. Is your wife a technophobe, 1. Yes: Buy with all the options you can afford excluding * 2. No: Buy a standard vehicle. * IMHO don't bother with, panoramic roof, leather seats, park assist, mdi socket and possibly the spare wheel. If you intend keeping for more than 3 years spend the extra saved on extended warranty. OR source a high spec Elegance with low mileage and save yourself a fortune.
  3. I have commented about this on many forums and nobody has yet provided firm proof of 8348 on an official DVD. There appears to be many unofficial downloads which are being exploited on auction sites and sold as V13. One member here offered me a ripped copy which infringes copyright. I will no doubt get another PM for this so to him please do not as I do not read them. My OEM VW V13 DVD is 8316. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Navigation_System_Maps Please also note I informed RT of the error on their site which encouraged them to change the last 5 CY boxes.
  4. Though they might look the same they may not be identical. http://www.my-gti.com/3983/volkswagen-rns-510-hardware-and-software-firmware-versions I am running 5238 with official V13, 8316, maps.
  5. Are you using official VW issue or copyright infringed discs.
  6. Is that the 2L 177ps engine. My Passat has it and I ran it from Winchester to Chieveley and back last evening, 99.75% on cruise and the maxi. said 66mpg.
  7. ahhh then you may never know. You are spending a lot of time now messing about anyway.
  8. I have just double checked both my cars with the 30gb. Both have MDI sockets, one running a Bolero the other RNS510 Columbus (earlier model than yours) but I just wanted to be sure the info I gave was true. Both systems worked immediately and the ipod was connected showing Media In on the pods screen. You may need to approach your dealer as I am not much help further and with no other posts available.
  9. My 30 also says Windows...I thought they were all Apple OS. But I am not connecting mine by USB so cannot now compare.
  10. From Googling it appears you are not the first to have such problems with RNS 315 volume settings. OK but I have to suggest/ask, have you tried re-setting the unit to Factory defaults.
  11. Ummmm VW 504 and 507 spec. Reports elsewhere say it's CE re-badged. £4 per litre I used it i my A4 and my current 1.2tsi.
  12. you can add Skoda Yeti to that list.

  14. You say it's formatted for Windows, I thought they used the Apple OS.
  15. Just to clarify, I like the auto switch off of the epb when driving off. I also like the Auto-Hold system which has no time limit as per my Yeti which has 2 seconds. The auto-hold, as I understand, does not employ the epb motors.
  16. I am using the auto hold. I pretty much dont think about it until I come fully to rest at the end of the drive.
  17. I would say electronic everything...
  18. As stated with all tech comes change and updating. Yes, to change the rear parts requires VCDS intervention to relax the motor drives. I assume 3rd party garages will have this tech anyway so you are not tied to VAG dealers. Or find a local member with a set up.
  19. yes certainly mine is failsafe on. A set of jump leads is required to release. I carry a set anyway...always have done. My fathers 2002 Merc had a foot parking brake (manual release) which, while it could be partially applied, was on or off.
  20. I have it on my recently purchased Passat and like it. Not sure if it's standard on any Skoda but it looks like it may soon be on some models. Food for thought. https://www.carwow.co.uk/guides/glossary/Electronic-parking-brake-explained
