  1. Don't fit Kumho KU31s if you are looking for a quiet tyre. They grip well, but are noisier and have increased my fuel consumption.
  2. I had similar problems with the alloys and had 4 replaced at 35.5 months, along with console bushes and front ARB links. Ths suspension still creaks though, not sure if it is dry bushes or the steering rack mounts
  3. Mine does the same too. Just live with it or park it inside.
  4. On mine, the computer show average of about 56-58mpg, but calculated out by tank fill is 46mpg. Still better than the 29mpg I got out of the Land Rover:)
  5. I thought you'd plug the Advanced Driving UK :: Test, Courses, Schools and Road Safety website Chris A worthwile forum if anyone is interested in raising their driving standards.
  6. They have to be accurate, cannot under supply or they have serious problems with Trading Standards. Can anyone else tell me how close the real comsumption figures are aganst the trip computer, especially with a TDI vRS estate? I'm thinking of getting one for my commute instead of the Fabia, but it would have to be close to my regular 45mpg (indicated 55mpg)
  7. The was one at the Scottish Motorfair at Knockhill this weekend. Like the one above it was silver and looked good. Seats were a slightly bolstered design, but not as bolstered as the vRS. Pity the fuel figures take such a hit over the comparable vRS. I was thinking about one, but will either go for a vRS or a Freelander if I need the 4x4.
  8. That was why I bought a Fabia. Too many cars now have a huge blindspot there.
  9. Is there any chance of a group buy, or do we contact PC direct?
  10. Another change for the 2007 model was the deletion of the wide angle part of the driver's door mirror.:thumbdwn:
  11. I loked at the Grande Puno as well, but was not happy with the huge blind spot caused by the sloping A-pillars and the lowish roofline. This was the same reason I rejected the Seat Leon and Fiat Panda as a possible purchase. These cars are in my opinion dangerous.
  12. Because most drivers now exhibit a total lack of mechanical sympathy. Check my orginal post, I said slower, not slow.
  13. That's why you have fancy multigrade oils to allow them to flow when cold. The best way is to drive it gently when cold avoid heavy throttle openings and "snatched" gearchanges. Slow the gearchange down, even double clutching if you know how, and change early. Once the engine is up to temp, then start work it harder:)
  14. Please don't tar all of us with the same brush. Some opf us use Land Rovers for thier designed purpose, not just the school run:D
  15. I'd be interested in a set of red flaps too.
  16. Try leaving a bowl of vinegar in the car overnight. It will absorb the odour and once the vinegar smell has gone all will be well.
  17. One of the advantages of the Fabia vRS is that it doesn't stand out. Why draw attention to the fact that you are probably quicker than most of the "hot"-hatches in the real world, especially when they have to keep on stopping for fuel:) . Other advantages are; 4 doors so you can get into the back seats, legroom in the back, decent size boot - complete with spare wheel:rolleyes: and you don't have to raid the options list to finish building the car.
  18. I use Holts Screen wash from Costco in 5l cans at less than a fiver. It works well and doesn't freeze when using 1.5l to 3.5l mix.
  19. CXontact Steven Mathieson at Chathams Dunfermline. They had a sprint yellow one in when I picked my one up at the end of August. Personally, I quite liked it. It is a stronger yellow than the previous colour.
  20. Where are you? I'm in Dalgety Bay and work in Glenrothes
  21. It is at my local dealer where I bought my vRS from. Used it on a couple of test drives. It went well and seems to be in fine condition.
  22. It may not be acid, but it is a caustic (base) pH is >7 see 9.) PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance: Orange liquid. Odour: Citrus. pH: 11.5 - 12.5 Boiling point: 101
  23. Why does it enable recirulation when in reverse? I'm puzzled:confused:
