  1. I am getting exactly the same problem on my new DSG VRs TSi. Needs a fair bit of throttle to get started on a hill when the engine is still a bit cold, and after a bit of a delay it takes off with a big lurch. I'd say the hill-hold on the brakes is too slow to release. If I use the manual hand brake it is absolutely fine and gentle/smooth off the line. I had a DSG diesel Passat with autohold and this had no problems at all in the same place. I will be taking this up with the dealer.
  2. The Cleaner's nightmare! Looks lovely in white but boy does it show imperfections.
  3. Over 175000km of mixed city and open road driving my Passat B6 2.0L TDi DSG averaged 45 mpg. The new RS TDi should better that based on the claimed fuel consumption which I assume would have been measured using the same methods by VAG.
  4. My name is Terry, and I've just taken possession (on behalf of my employers!) of a new Octavia RS Combi TSi DSG. This is replacing a B6 Passat TDi DSG Variant that I've been driving for the past 4 years and 175000km, I was swayed by the great spec list of the RS, and the promise of a perky GTi motor in a sensible family-moving wagon. It also looks much sexier than my Passat, although I have to say that this has been a super long distance open road drive. I am also very much enamoured of my wife's Mk VII Golf TSi and fancied a bigger faster version of that. So far so good, although as delivered the stupid sound generator has been left turned up to "11" and sounds awful in sport and just OK in normal, so the dealer is sorting that in the morning. I will ask for it to be turned right off as I'd much rather listen to music.
