  1. I love my new Greenline (does this car ever need filling? I am at once a month at the moment for about 60 quid a time), it really is superb! However, the fly in my motoring ink is the GSM 111 thing. Now I am not new to bluetooth technology in any way, but I have never had anything that mind rapes my phone and controls it at it's whim. Part of the problem is that I get a lot of text messages for work and I use them as a bit of a 'to do' list when I get to my desk and reply then and I assumed that getting them displayed on my car would also show them in the text threading on my phone. I was wrong. Making and receiving calls is fine and useful, the bluetooth connection is brilliant and strong with no drops so far but I don;t need anything else from this system and I want it to leave my text messages and music alone quite frankly. So, will this system allow me to make and receive calls without harvesting my text messages which I want to go to my phone so I can reply later? Plus I have my music on a SD card, how to I tell it to not touch that on my phone? This whole system seems a bit over engineered really, why the HELL would you want to read and respond to text messages while driving?!
  2. Yes, I did use a Mac (iTunes to convert to MP3)? What's that all about then and is there an easy way to get rid of them all? Thanks btw
  3. Hi all, I haven't been active of late, but after having a 55 1.9TDi Superb 1 Elegance I have now just taken delivery of an Elegance Greenline II via an 09 E320 CDi Sport which wasn't all that really. As an aside, how good is this car?!? The fuel consumption is frightening, how can they deliver such technology on such a big car? Plus it's quite nice to be in a manual car again, first one I have had since an 02 Seat Toledo V5, especially as I live on the Isle of Wight and don't sit in traffic much, the extra fuel economy is well worth it. I lease my cars and as this was registered in June (13 plate) I got it for £1000 deposit and £229 a month on just a 2 year lease! Fiesta money. Anyhoo, to the meat of the matter. I have uploaded a load of music to the columbus system HDD all into one file and it seems fine (although it seems to have copied 2 copies of each track, one of which for each doesn't work?). I just like having a load of different tracks and hitting shuffle so having them in one file is fine for me. Question is, can I ADD music to this file or will it have to go into a new file? If I can, how do I do it? Plus I have the umbrella in this one, my other one never had it and I never got around to getting the dealer to replace. Silly things like that make me happy!
  4. Mine is Dec 2004 (1.9TDi Elegance with Sat Nav) and has just cracked 100,000. It runs better than new quite honestly although it won't be worth much!
  5. Sorry to be stupid here, but how do you remove the sensor (to try cage mod)? Does it just pull off or is there a clip?
  6. Thanks for that, might give them a go. Are there any known problems using either of these on the 1.9TDI engine? I imagine VAG do not recommend the use of additives?
  7. I am coming up to 100k in my Octavia II 1.9TDI and feel that I should be doing more to get the best out of the old girl (3.5 years old!) as I want another 100k! Anyone here any experience of using additives in these engines and what suggestions would you make to ensure I keep getting the most out of her? Thanks in advance Daveboy
  8. Hi all, A couple of the buttons on my Factory Fit Sat Nav (04/54 Octavia II Elegance) have worn right through! How heavy handed must I be! Can you get replacement buttons or even replacement front panel to smarten this up? They all still work OK, just want them to look like new again. Also, I have a scratch to the carbon effect trim on the interior of the passenger door. Is this expensive/difficult to replace? Thanks for any help Daveboy
