  1. If you hit back seats (upper part) with your hand you also get very strong booming noise. All parts in the back resonate with booming noise when you hit them with your open hand. Because of that I'am sure that vibrations are transfered from suspension to the back of the car. How hatch can produce such a strong booming noise with pressure by just moving few milimeters??? It is not possible. Try to put sponge between hatch and trunk, and then close the hatch firmly. still you will have booming noise.
  2. Can you post picture of the part which is replaced (tailgate seal).
  3. Problem with booming noise is because of faulty shocks! Forget the spare wheel, hatch... It it the same problem like with Golf 7.
  4. I have 2.0tdi 6 speed manual and my gearbox is very precise and nice to use, but it is very noisy. Every time when I change gear I can hear click-clack noise. Especialy when I have windows opened and changing from 1st to 2nd and 3rd. Also when I made fast press and depress of clutch pedal in neutral I can geat very loud click clack noise.
  5. Original Skoda roofbars are extremely noisy, don't buy them.
  6. One thing confusing me, if Skoda is aware of problem why they are still using faulty shock absorbes even in totally new cars produced in the beginning of July??? For example, my car is produced in second week of May, and production date of absorbes is 25.04.14. and I have the problem. Because of that I not sure if new absorbes will solve problem and for sure Skoda will not accept complaint. My code: 5Q0 512 013 FQ.
  7. I don't think that Skoda will replace it on their cost, but I will replace it on my own. Total cost is around 300€. For your info , one absorber is 110€.
  8. With this new shock absorber 5Q0 513 049 FF problem with booming noise will be solved or not? I checked with my dealer, and at this time it is possible to order 5Q0 513 049 EA.
  9. On SkodaCommunity.de they are saying that Skoda is aware of problem and that all new cars producted from week 28 will have new modified shock absorbes. That is little stupid, because if Skoda is aware of problem why they are still producing cars with faulty shocks till production week 28 (07.07.2014.)?
  10. I think that all Octavia's have problem, only someone is less sensitive comparing to others to this annoying noise. I tried two hatch 2.0tdi and one estate 1.8 tsi and all have that annoying noise from the back of the car. I would be very happy that some have this problem and some not, because than it would be very easy to diagnose problem and to find solution. I think that problem is in construction of rear suspension or in shock absorbres. Did some of you changed shock absorbes and fix problem?
  11. I think that booming noise is not due to air vents or air pressure, because even if you open windows you still have this annoying booming noise and pressure in your ears. With opened windowns plenty of air can go out od the car.
  12. I think that with good damping of boot area (silent coat, dynamat) the noise will be much lower, because as I saw, under carpet the boot area is plain metal without any isolation or dumping stickers. When you hit carpet in the boot area, you get the noise like you hit the drum (same dull noise).
  13. Blahde2, you are completely right. I think that I had high idle because of AC. These days are very hot in my country, around 34C, and because of that AC was working full. But as you said, after some time revs come to normal 750rpm.
  14. I noticed that usually on idle, my Octavia 2.0 tdi running around 1000 rpm. It is not regeneration of dpf. Sometimes it is normal at 750rpm, but not often. I was thinking that it is because of AC and another big electricity consumers, but when I turn Ac off it still running high. After turning AC off, sometimes I press acceleration pedal to the metal (quick press) and then revs come to normal around 750rpm. AnBody have the same issue?
  15. Yes this is regular part of suspension. Transportation blocks are around pistons, but you can't see them until you lift the car, so the wheels are hanging down.
  16. Sorry, but problem was due to transportation blocks. After two visits to Skoda dealer, they did't removed them. I had two of them left on each side. Car came with three of them on each side. This is unbelivible!
  17. I got my Octavia 2.0 tdi elegance two days ago. Everything is very nice except ride quality. Front suspension / shock absorbers are unbeliveble hard for my taste. When I hit bigger hole on the road I got felling that front shock absorbes are fully presed and all power transfers to the car. Felling is also like shock absorbes are missing more movement (like a sports car with lowered suspension). I have 225/45 R17 tyres and normal suspension. Transportation shock absorbes blocks are removed. Anybody else with 17" tyres have same feeling, like driving very low sports car, and that every bigger hole on the road transfers to your back with unpleasent boom noise.
