  1. Yeah fair enough. I don't think it will be worth it for everyone.
  2. I paid 38USD for it, but had to pay in Bitcoin which was fun to arrange. For me it has been totally worth it. I found the stock ROM to be buggy. With Redmod things seem to work as I would expect. There a quite a few extra options in redmod. Some off the top of head, by no means exhaustive: - Dynamic reversing trajectory lines that move with steering wheel. Reversing lines seem to be more customisable. - Root access to ROM (haven't dared try this yet!) - Control app start up and sequence. Delay start up. - Map steering wheel buttons (never worked for me on stock) - Map steering wheel Mode button to any apps you like an in any sequence - set default music, video and radio apps among others - screen lock with PIN (quite handy when car goes into garage for service) - different phone dialler (more options than stock I think) - Better FM radio thank stock I think - Speed compensation volume control - A few other options to do with sound that I haven't tried or worked out yet! Might not be worth it for some but I'm happy with it. I've just had notification of an OTA update so looks like it is being actively developed. Hope that helps.
  3. Thanks. I'm actually using a different ROM at the moment (Redmod). The downside is that it doesn't have the TPMS reset option as far as I can see. I'll see if I can extract the settings APK from the original ROM and try to transfer it across I suppose (unless anyone has a copy of the APK and is able to send it to me?)
  4. Is there an option to store the tyre pressure values for TPMS somewhere?
  5. I used a combination of this video on youtube and a post on here
  6. So factory USB now seems to be working 😎 Next problem for me is Tlink. When I plug my Samsung S9 phone into the factory USB, Android Auto opens up on the screen briefly but then disappears and I'm back to the Tlink screen which says waiting. Has anyone else had this problem? I did have Android Auto working wirelessly before but now that doesn't seem to want to work either. I've updated Tlink to v1.8.8 but doesn't seem to help.
  7. I took a 12V piggy back from the rear wiper washer fuse. Works fine for me.
  8. This is the camera that I bought that came with the metal clamp. Maybe contact the seller as see if they will just sell you the clamp only? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33035970515.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.73ba1802h330lo
  9. For me the cable wasn't quite long enough to reach the sunvisor on the drivers side. The closest I could get was the rear view mirror.
  10. Sorry I was talking rubbish. It's a mic with a 3.5mm jack not USB!
  11. So finally got around to attempting to install the modified USB cable from the seller. Annoyingly I found the additional power cables attached to the USB lead are too short to cover the distance from the quadlock to the back of the unit (maybe a problem for me because I have a right hand drive car where it sounds like there is a shorter distance between the quad lock and unit?). I'm thinking I might and try to splice in some cable to make them long enough to reach. On the positive side I've manged to fit a USB external microphone located by rear view mirror and seems to be working better for voice commands. Haven't tried phone calls yet. Fingers crossed.
  12. Thanks. Sounds like no hope for the internal mic then. Which external mic have you found works best?
  13. I don't suppose anyone has managed to fix the problem with the rubbish microphone? I thought mine was OK at first but now seems to be unusable.
  14. Just checked mine and play store is working OK. Sometimes takes a while to start downloading the update.
  15. On mine the volume lowers when it mixes the sat nav and audio streams. When it starts mixing them then I have to crank up the volume a bit more than normal. You can adjust the sat nav and audio mix balance in the settings.
  16. I've got some plastic shims, so will give them a try them to see if they work.
  17. The picture on aliexpress shows the gap the same as mine. You can see in the photo that there is quite a gap between the metal plate and the back of the black handle. On my Octavia boot there isn't anything else between the inside surface and outside surface apart from the thickness of the boot body metalwork. The metal bodywork is clearly a lot thinner than the gap in this picture which I guess is why it isn't clamping when I tighten the nuts. Is it supposed to just clamp either side of the boot metal body work? I'm wondering if I'm missing something on the inside surface of the metal bodywork which gives it extra thickness?
  18. Just measured both handles to double check I'm not going mad. The original and replacement are both 93mm long by 36mm wide.
  19. Tried the attaching the metal plate with nuts on the inside of the boot. I've tightened them up as much as I can but there is a gap of a 5mm or so between the lip of the metal plate and the boot so the catch wobbles about. see photo attached. Am I doing something wrong?!
  20. Thanks for that FUBAR. I suspect it's going to be fun trying to get my fingers or a spanner inside the boot metalwork to put the nuts on the threads in situ. More skin off my knuckles!
  21. Ah I see. I was confused how the metal plate would be held in place as there are no nuts provided to thread onto the studs. Are you supposed to provide the nuts yourself?
  22. I've finally managed to run the cables for boot handle camera, but having a problem fitting the replacement handle. The replacement handle seems to have two small plastic clips on either side and they aren't really holding the handle in place properly. Whereas, the original handle has one much larger metal clip on one side, which holds it in nicely. Has anyone had the same problem with one of these camera boot handles? The camera did come with a metal plate, but can't see how that helps. Am I missing something? The camera I bought is this one here https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33035970515.html
  23. I've linked apps to RADIO/NAV/MUSIC etc in AGAMA as you've shown, but this only seems to relate to the AGAMA app. The default apps on the the mode button (circle with dots on left of photo) on the steering wheel aren't changed. When press the button it cycles through NAV/MUSIC/RADIO/AUX etc but with the exception of NAV they are all the default apps. Had a quick look on XDA developers forum and it seems other people have asked the same question for other android head units but there doesn't seem to be a solution. The button mapping I was trying to use is the built in steering wheel button app in the photo attached not in AGAMA. When I press start at the bottom of this app, select the function I want and then press the button on the steering wheel it just activates the default button action rather than re-mapping it. I wondered if anyone else has sucessfully managed to use this app to re-map the steering wheel buttons? I see there is an impedance selection option which I haven't tried yet so will give that a go.
