Good for you. The central VW office said this to me, too. And the dealer in Doncaster said that its not included. I have called DM Keith Skoda in Hull and York as well, and they didnt want to do a price match They said straight away that 469 is the best price and they cant lower it. Iam still happy with 410 and with a stamp in my service book from Skoda dealer. Still better than the original price.

They said to me that its not included in the price. They will check it and if it needs change it will be an additional cost around 120. So its around the original price. And i think its better to change it.

Ok. Just a small update after a few phone calls with VW and Skoda. The Skoda dealer called me back after that he realised that I want to book in my car to a VW dealer. They offered me a price 410 inc VAT and I was explained that VW 349 price doesnt include the tensioners. After this I called the central VW to get confirmation if the price includes the tensioners or not. They said yes, it is included. Than called again VW Hayselden in Doncaster to book in my Skoda car for 349 and just for sure I asked about the tensioners. I was speaking with the service manager who confirmed, that the tensioners are not included. They will just inspect them and if they need to change them than it will be 100-120 more. After speaking with him for about 5 mins he wasnt sure if a Skoda car can qualify for this discount, because this discount was offered just for VW cars. I definitely want to change the tensioners as well, so in this case the service will be for the same price as Skodas original price - 459. So only thing i was able to get it was a a better price 410 from skoda. So I think I will go ahead and book in my car for the service. Sorry for my poor English...

Thanks for the info Kiko1. I called Skoda in Doncaster and they said they can give me a better price 420. Original price 459 (cambelt, waterpump). After it I called VW Doncaster. The service manager has confirmed that they can service my Skoda for 349 (cambelt, waterpump). I have called back Skoda Doncaster and asked for a price match. They will call me back. So we will see. If they give me the same price I will service it in Skoda if not Iam going to VW.

i thought that its standard on FL octavia vrs after week 45 so they should not charge for this. I will give it a go tomorrow. Its strange that its there but its not activated.

Hello Turbobell. I see you own a vRS, too. Does your come with xds activated? And if I can activate xds, can I activate hill hold control , too? I know that it needs different abs module. I will check out my modules part number and will try it.

Is mine an early one? I read that after week 45 it was standard. I think mine is week 47 but not sure.

Hello everybody. I read about the xds a lot but I can't find one thing. If it's fitted to the Octavia vRS as standard why it is not activated or is it just me? I have checked it with vcds and its not ticked. Should I activate it? Will it make any difference?

Hello everyone. I know it was discussed a lot of times here but I just want to make it sure that I am buying the right parts. I want to make an oil change on my 2010 Skoda Octavia vRS Tdi. It is the CR engine. Is this oil any good for it? Does this meet the required specs? And can someone advice me which oil filter I have to buy for it? Thanks very much !

Hello everyone! Last week I was at work and the security guy came after me that my alarm keeps going off. I went out and everything was fine with the car, no alarm. Today, after 3-4 days I was coming out from a shop and see that the alarm goes off again. No parking cars or walking people next to the car. Went home, parked the car on a driveway. After 30-40 minutes the alarm went off again. I opened the car and checked every piece of paper or whatever what can move and trigger the interior monitoring sensor. What I found was a fly. I opened the doors to get rid of it and closed the doors by remote again. So far no alarm. So my question is, can this small insect cause enough movement to the interior monitoring sensor to trigger the alarm or will I need a new unit soon?

Oh ok. I just saw KBPhotos topic here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/313181-diagnosing-misfire-with-vcds/#entry3913920 and there was an advice that if it is out of the other values its a faulty injector. I dont know what else to check regarding this knocking noise and shuddering. I think these two things are related each other because when the engine is warm there is no shudder and no noise.

Oh I understand what you are saying. But no, no problems. If I drive in manual mode in 5 or 6 gear and try to accelerate hard from low speed its going without shudder.

Sometimes the gearbox changes up to 6 and the rpm is around 1200, but no problems at all.

These are good news. But why that big difference between 1,4 and 2,3? Sorry, Iam not very mechanical minded. The gearbox oil was changed before 5000 miles and the gearbox was inspected as well, but they didnt say nothing about any problems with it.
